Hello, my name is Mary and I'm totally obsessed with The Bachelorette and always have been -- but this season has seriously thrown me for a loop.
Just when I thought there were only two possible scenarios for what happens at Desiree Hartsock's final rose ceremony in Antigua, a new little piece of information has surfaced that makes me question everything. Now I have three more theories of what may (or may not) happen on The Bachelorette finale.
Ok, so these aren't really spoilers, but if you don't even want to read possible spoilers -- this is your fair warning.
Get this one -- Chris Harrison says producers would've given Brooks Forester more time to figure out whether or not he was really into Desiree if he'd asked them to. Meaning they would've possibly extended the show by a few weeks or something like that so he could go on a few more dates with her and sort out his feelings.
And if Brooks was really, truly, deeply not 100 percent sure that Des wasn't the one, don't you think he would've stuck it out for the overnight date? Or at least considered taking a little more time to mull things over instead of making such a rash decision?
But then again, it's not like Chris came right out and said that extending the show was an option, so maybe Brooks just did what he felt was right given the short amount of time he had to assess his feelings for Desiree.
However, the fact that producers were even willing to consider dragging things out even further means there are a few more possibilities to the outcome of the show -- other than Brooks coming back and proposing to Des or Des getting engaged to Chris.
- Brooks returns without a ring -- Ok, so I can definitely see this scenario going down. He did seem pretty bent out of shape when he dumped Des, so maybe he does regret leaving her and comes back to apologize -- and possibly tells her he cares for her but needs more time to figure out whether he's ready to wife her up. Maybe he'll give her some sort of lame-o promise ring instead of an engagement ring?
- Des learns that Brooks could've had more time (and hates him as a result) -- What if Chris tells her the option of going on a few more dates was there? That might make her realize that Brooks most definitely does not love her, which could be the exact piece of closure she needs to get engaged to Chris and live happily ever after. And what if she learns that Brooks wants to come back, but she doesn't even bother giving him that chance because of how he hurt her? (Scandalous!)
- Des gets engaged, but not on the finale -- Ooo! So I just came up with this one in the midst of writing this post. What if Des is so heartbroken over Brooks that she winds up saying goodbye to both Chris and Drew and leaves Antigua alone -- then gets a surprise proposal from Brooks on the "After the Final Rose" special? Could be. It would make for some interesting drama and really high ratings if that were to take place.
OMG. This finale is keeping me guessing more than any other season ever has. (And I dig it.)
What do you think is going to happen on the finale?
