teresa giudiceIf you haven't heard, Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Teresa and Joe Giudice have been charged with 39 counts of fraud by the government and could face up to 50 years in prison. Apparently, Tre and Juicy have been beyond deceptive when it comes their finances, and it's finally all caught up with them. The Giudices were released on $500,000 bail each, and they need to surrender their passports and are not allowed to leave New York or New Jersey until their next hearing on August 14. This is serious sh*t here.

Teresa has broken her silence on Twitter since everything has gone down, and here's what she had to say:

Today is a most difficult day for our family. I support Joe and, as a wonderful husband and father, I know he wants only the best for our lovely daughters and me. I am committed to my family and intend to maintain our lives in the best way possible, which includes continuing my career. As a result, I am hopeful that we will resolve this matter with the Government as quickly as possible. Thank you all for your kind wishes, prayers and support.

She also linked to a CelebBuzz article, entitled, "Teresa Giudice Speaks Out on Indictment, Will Plead Not Guilty."

I get that Tre and her RHONJ career is what's bringing home the bacon for the Giudices right now, but I've gotta be honest here, I'm a little surprised that she's tweeting and linking it up right now. She and her husband could be going to jail, leaving their four kids behind. Who could be worried about Twitter at a time like this? And what's with adding that little bit about her continuing her career? What does that have to do with anything? This family really seems to have their priorities screwed up, which is what got them into this mess in the first place.

I'll be honest here, I'm worried about their children. What's going to happen to them if one or both of their parents goes to jail (for potentially a long time)? But if both Teresa and Joe escape all the ridiculously unscrupulous (and illegal) things they did completely unscathed, that's the biggest crime of all.

What do you think should happen to Teresa and Joe?
