Amanda Bynes' Trashed Hotel Room Photos Show Just How Badly She Needs Help

This Just In 16

Amanda BynesAfter seeing photos of Amanda Bynes' trashed hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in New York City, it's even more clear that committing her to a psychiatric facility was the right thing to do so she can get the help she needs.

TMZ obtained the pictures, which were taken after Amanda was kicked out of the hotel last Thursday for allegedly smoking marijuana in the room and being rude to staff members.

The shots show ashes and papers on the desk, garbage and cosmetic bottles all over the sink in the bathroom, and leftover food and beverages scattered about as well. Oh yeah, and the smoke detector in the room is busted too, which is something Amanda has supposedly done in the past out of paranoia that someone is watching her.

The Ritz is said to be tallying up the damages in addition to the costs Amanda already ran up at the hotel totaling $9,000 over a nine day stay.

As was reported last week, Amanda's parents are seeking an involuntary conservatorship to gain control of her finances and also to make decisions as far as her mental health goes. In the meantime, she's being held in the psychiatric facility for another two weeks so she can be more closely evaluated and doctors can better assess what kind of help she needs.

For her sake, and the sake of her parents who have seen their daughter go on a downward spiral, let's all hope that this is the beginning of a period of recovery where she will improve and find her way back to being the girl so many fans knew and loved.

Do the photos of Amanda's trashed hotel room surprise you at all?

The room is not that bad. They can go to Walmart and replace the smoke detector, and it looks like it just needs to be cleaned. And I thought most hotels got money upfront??

Second, you all need to leave her alone. Let her get the help she needs and her parents to finally be able to get her the help. Her parents have been trying and they couldn't by law until she was involuntarily committed.

I hope she gets the help and finds out what is going on.

Smoking in the room and being rude to hotel workers I can understand for her getting thrown out but honestly that room isn't that messy! I worked in a hotel before doing housekeeping and I've seen WAY worse than this.

Billsfan1104, you say "leave her alone" yet you read the article. The news writes about what people want to read, the fact that you took the time to comment on it will make news sites continue to write these stories.

I was expecting FAR worse by the comments on the articles.... the room really isn't that bad at all.  I've rented one where someone had a dog in it before us & they neglected to clean up after it (yes, I immediately got another room).

It comes as no surprise to me, this is the insanity of the disease. Addicts wreck havoc upon and leave damage behind for others to cleanup because their lives are in shambles. Let this be a turningpoint for her that can lead to discovery and recovery.

The room really isn't that bad... and maybe she disabled the smoke detector because she was smoking in the room and didn't want it to go off...

Anyone could go in and mess up that room and claim it was Amanda. I mean, it probably was, but unless you have a picture of her IN the room while it is a mess, I don't know that I buy it.

I don't she what's showing that she needs "help" ... other than domestically in the form of a maid, because the girl is a friggin slob.

Granted - the girl has problems and needs help. But, most hotel patrons leave a disgusting mess.  Lots of patrons are rude to employees  If the state  of that hotel room  and being rude is reason to commit someone then there are thousands of hotel patrons that should be in mental hospitals right now.

$100 smoke detector and a simple cleaning and that room is ready to go, One assumes the majority of that $9000 is simply room rental since the cheapest room is about $6000   to over $9000 for a mid-range room - for a nine night stay - and she obviously had room service based on the dishes.....  I'd imagine very little of that bill is actually for damages.
