OMG, you guys. I think I might have just figured out what happens on the finale of The Bachelorette. You know how Chris Harrison has been promising that Desiree Hartsock's ending will be the most dramatic scene ever? Yes, I know he always says that, but I think he actually means it this time.
By piecing together a few key bits of information, coupled with new clues that have emerged indicating whether or not Desiree winds up with a ring on her finger at the end of this thing -- I honestly think I know what's going to happen. If I'm right, we're in for a major treat.
Warning: BIG TIME SPOILERS AHEAD.
Ok, so we found out yesterday that one of Desiree's remaining men eliminates himself in Antigua -- leaving her brokenhearted and not knowing how to pick up the pieces of her life, blah, blah, blah. And that kind of got us wondering whether she quits the show altogether, or if she does still wind up finding love even though she gets dumped in the worst possible way.
But then a report popped up today saying that Desiree does get engaged on the finale. It even gave details about the two rings that are presented to her -- meaning she gets not one, but two proposals.
And after hearing this little tidbit, I went back over everything in my head and watched the extended finale promo again, and I really think I've got it all figured out. (And no, I haven't bothered to read Reality Steve, so this is my own prediction of what's gonna happen.)
Are you ready? Here goes nothing.
Drew is still head-over-heels for Des, but she knows he's not the one, so she dumps him on the beach during their one-on-one date. In the finale preview, you can see her crying on the beach and telling one of the guys that she "can't be everything to him." I'm about 99.99 percent positive that guy is Drew.
And then there is Chris. Yes, she likes Chris, and he winds up being in her final two, but she's in love with Brooks.
Here's where things get interesting.
When it comes time for Brooks and Des' overnight date, he eliminates himself. He freaks out after arriving in Antigua and thinks he's just not ready to commit, so he says goodbye to a teary-eyed Des and heads back to Utah.
Fast forward to the scene of her sitting there sobbing and telling Chris Harrison she "just wants to go home."
I think that quitting the show is exactly what she plans on doing, but she doesn't want to leave without giving Chris an explanation. She goes to the final rose ceremony knowing full well she's going to wind up breaking his heart.
Ahhh! Do you see where I'm going with this? This is where it really gets good, people.
I think Des will tell Chris goodbye -- and then suddenly Brooks will magically show up and surprise her after realizing he made the biggest mistake of his life by leaving the show.
He'll get down on one knee and propose, she'll do the ugly cry one more time, and they'll ride off into the sunset on a catamaran or something equally as cheesy. Total Hollywood ending. You gotta love it.
Soooo, did I nail it or what? Guess we'll have to wait until the second part of the finale airs on August 5 to find out.
What do you think will happen on The Bachelorette finale?
