Something unimaginable happened this week on Princesses: Long Island. Joey's dad told her she needs to move out of his house, pronto. And according to the no-responsibility and I-ain't-got-no-time-for-work lifestyles of our fabulously lazy princesses, that basically means that, OMG, her life is totally over. Calm down, Princess Joey, your life isn't over.
First off, while I'm completely in support of the princesses moving out of their parents' homes (I mean, they're all over 26 years old!), that doesn't mean that I don't feel a teeny-weeny bit sorry for Joey. Change is hard to deal with no matter what it is, and having your own flesh and blood tell you that he doesn't want you living in the family home is a pretty nasty wake-up call. But with that said, these princesses need one massive dose of reality that'll get them off their couture-wearing behinds and out into the real world.
Yes, Joey keeps on saying that her product Kissamint, a lipstick and breath freshener in one (does anyone else secretly love this idea?!), is on the verge of making it big, but right now it's all talk and no show. Maybe her dad kicking her out of the house will be the final push she needs to make Kissamint a hit in the makeup world. She might struggle for a little while, but that'll just make her success that much sweeter. I mean, come on, there's nothing better than feeling like you did something well all on your own (paired with a glass of celebratory wine, of course).
In the hopes of finding her own castle, Joey reluctantly went apartment hunting and brought along her sassy and loud wing woman, Amanda, who was pretty much no help at all. Amanda tried to add a little bit of humor to the situation but ended up just making Joey even more depressed. At the site of an apartment that was within Joey's budget, Amanda supportively said, "I feel like I'm in a horror movie and I'm about to die." Way to rub salt into an open wound, Amanda.
So, Joey, you might feel like your life is over, but this is probably going to be the best thing that anyone ever does for you. Being accountable for your own actions and successes is more rewarding than you could ever imagine. Good luck, Princess Kissamint. I'm rooting for you and your fine smelling lips.
What do you think about Joey getting kicked out of her house? Do you think her dad is being too harsh?
