Jenny McCarthy confessed that she was attempting to follow Chelsea Handler's advice, by inviting eligible bachelors she might like to date on her new VH1 talk show, The Jenny McCarthy Show. Mission accomplished. The former Playboy Bunny who became a pop culture icon in the '90s after co-hosting MTV's Singled Out is now dating Donnie Wahlberg of New Kids on the Block fame. Crazy!
A friend confirms to Us Weekly, "Yes, they recently started dating and are having a lot of fun. They had a blast 4th of July hanging out with a bunch of their friends." The couple was spotted with fellow NKOTB member Jonathan Knight and his boyfriend Harley. Aww, double date!
Apparently, the two hit it off initially when Donnie, who now stars on the TV show Blue Bloods, was on her show and shared some innuendo-filled banter. Jenny asked, "Do you talk dirty while you're having sex?"
He replied, "I do," then proceeded to whisper sweet dirty nothings in her ear on camera.
Jenny even admitted she was totally into Donnie in a blog she wrote in advance of the episode's airing:
Let’s just say we visually give 50 Shades of Grey a run for its money. It gets steamy. I mean like really steamy. Being turned on by a guy is always fun but to have it legitimately happen to you on TV is to be turned back into a 12-year-old. By the time we get into the groundbreaking interview, my face turns fifty shades of RED.
See for yourself ...
Definitely see sparks flying there! I'm glad to hear they've found love and happiness with one another. Judging from the interviews she's given, it seems like single mom Jenny -- who has one son named Evan from a previous relationship -- had a rough time getting over her 5+ year relationship with Jim Carrey. And dad of two Donnie divorced his ex-wife Kim Fey in 2008. Hopefully, now, he and Jenny have the "right stuff" to "hang tough" together. They'll just need to take their new relationship "step by step." (Sorry, I couldn't help myself.)
Do you think this new celeb coupling has what it takes to make it last?
