'Bachelorette' Emily Maynard Says 'No One Cares' in Desperate Effort to Make Us Say 'Yes, We Do!'

emily maynardOne of everyone's favorite Bachelorettes, Emily Maynard, recently admitted something that most likely everyone on that show has gone or will be going through: Fearing that they're "old news." Considering that it's been over a year (can you believe it?) that she had to announce that her engagement was over to Jef Holm, she's partially right.

But seeing as we're writing about said interview with her local paper and that she seems to be doing great in her post-Bachelorette life with Ricki, we do still care, Emily. Just because it's been a long time since we've watched you try to find love on reality TV doesn't mean you're forgotten. Still, you can't help but wonder why she'd say these things during an interview. Is she fishing for compliments? Acknowledging what happens with the fleeting fame of being a reality TV star? Does she really need to know that her fans still care?

During the interview, she admitted, "I'm old news ... Nobody cares anymore." But then apparently a "red-faced young man" came up to her and asked to get a photo with her.

Drrr. So they still do care, Emily. Believe it or not, they really do.

Though she had to publicly endure two failed engagements, life for Emily now seems pretty damn good. But when asked what the toughest thing about motherhood is, she admits:

I have so many great memories from my childhood. My mom went above and beyond every holiday, every birthday, in everyday life. My lunches she pressed “I love you” into all my peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I always want Ricki to look back and say, “I had the best childhood ever.” Being in charge of how somebody’s going to look back and view their childhood, that’s a lot of pressure.

Awww, what a sweet sentiment. Seems like Emily has more than stepped up to that, and she is doing her best to be a wonderful mom to Ricki. So it really shouldn't matter to Em if she's "old news" -- being a mom should take precedence over fame-seeking (though try telling that to any reality TV parent!).

And believe it or not, she still watches The Bachelor/Bachelorette!

I do. But I always skip the first couple episodes. On my season, a guy came in with an egg and one thought he was a vampire. I can’t get into the whole gimmicky part of it. I like when you actually see a love story start to happen.

You'd think she may have an extremely jaded viewpoint of the show, but ...

I’ve struggled with that a lot in my own experiences, and wondering what was real life and what was reality TV. But I know that both times I did fall in love. Obviously, it’s possible -- I went to a wedding in December (Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum from Season 7 of “The Bachelorette”). I think it’s pretty slim chances, but I do think it’s possible. It just wasn’t for me.

What such a healthy outlook, her "old news" and "no one cares" comments seem a bit out of left field. She has a more than fulfilling life, with an exciting new jewelry business venture to boot. Plus, with the sole purpose of giving Ricki the best childhood ever, Emily will always matter (and be loved) by someone! And seriously, the girl has over 400,000 Twitter followers. She isn't forgotten yet.

What do you think about Emily's "old news" and "no one cares" comments? Think she's right or just fishing for compliments?

She's fishing. She's so self-centered that it is difficult to believe that she has any love left for her daughter. I don't like her.
