'Bachelorette' Recap: James Can't Be Trusted but Neither Can Desiree Hartsock

TV Addict 13

James the BacheloretteGood grief. What the heck is going on with Desiree Hartsock's season of The Bachelorette? Because if I didn't know any better -- I'd think these dudes were more concerned with tattle-tailing on each other than they are with playing tonsil hockey forming a connection with Des.

I mean, I know it's in their nature to be competitive and all, but come on -- was it really fair for them to gang up on James the way they did?

Yes, I know he admitted that he's cheated on a girl before and also didn't deny saying that he'd entertain the possibility of being the next Bachelor. But seriously -- what guy with half a pulse comes on the show and doesn't have that particular scenario cross his mind at one point or another?

Duh -- these men aren't stupid. Each and every single one of them knows that being on The Bachelorette opens all sorts of fun, "hey, you've been on a reality TV show" kinda doors. James was just dumb enough to get caught talking about it.

And Des? Ugh. Poor Des got all caught up in his smooth-talkin' ways and didn't seem to want to accept that he might not be as into her as she thought -- and that he might not be on the show for the right reasons.

She empathized with him and got all weepy, which was totally pathetic -- but thank GOD she came to her senses and let him go at the last minute; otherwise, the remaining guys may have never forgiven her, let alone fully trusted her from this point forward. And there's still a chance that they might not feel the same about her for keeping him around as long as she did. By not kicking him to the curb right away, it's almost like she didn't believe what they were telling her. (Not exactly a desirable quality in a potential wife.)

But what the heck is up with her keeping Michael around? (Um, has she SEEN Juan Pablo? Yummy.) Oh wait, I know, it's to dig up any secrets the last few dudes may have -- because that's pretty much all he's done so far. It's like he's her own personal mole. (Good move, Des.)

Chris, Brooks, Zak, and Drew really seem like pretty great guys -- which is why I can't quite wrap my head around what's about to go down based on the previews for next week's episode. Is Drew really going to dump her? And is she going to give up on finding love all together and send the rest of the guys packing?

OMG. Let's hope not. It would be such a shame for it all to come crashing down when Des' season finally started to get entertaining.

Do you think James really liked Desiree, or did he just want to be the next Bachelor? And what do you make of those previews?!?
