Alec Baldwin's 'Homophobic' Rant Against a Reporter Was Well-Deserved

OMG 19

Alec Baldwin has gone on another rant against a reporter -- but this time it's pretty justified. The Daily Mail wrote a mean-spirited attack against his pregnant wife, Hilaria, saying that she was tweeting about frivolous things like ideas for wedding anniversary gifts while everyone else was mourning at James Gandolfini's funeral. According to Alec and Hilaria, however, those tweets were hours later. Now whether or not Hilaria should have stayed in mourning all day can be up for debate, but I believe she was not tweeting during the funeral. And Alec was so crazy mad that he launched a vicious personal attack against the reporter, calling him a "queen" and saying he'd stick his boot up the guy's ass but he'd "dig it too much." Alec doesn't get points for maturity, but he does get points for having his wife's back.

After the story, Alec wrote in tweets that he has since deleted (Alec, that trick never works when you're a celebrity):

My wife and I attend a funeral to pay our respects to an old friend, and some toxic Brit writes this f****** trash. ... My wife DID NOT use her phone, in any capacity, at our friends funeral ...

He also wrote that he would "f**k" the reporter up and called him a "toxic little queen" and a "little bitch."

Many outlets are going on about Alec's "homophobia" -- and yeah, calling someone a queen and making digs about anal are really not cool. Not mature. Alec did not need to stoop so low. But it is indeed frustrating when people make shit up about you and publish it as fact -- or when they do that to your wife.

However, Hilaria came to her own defense on Twitter -- and she did it much more rationally than Alec. She pointed out that her tweets were later and the time difference between the UK (where the reporter was) and New Jersey (where Hilaria was). The fact is, Hilaria is an adult who doesn't need hot-headed Alec rushing to her defense in the most asinine way. Part of learning to love is allowing your spouse to fight to his or her own battles, while still having your partner's back.

Maybe Alec will learn that one day, but I'm not counting on it. At any rate, I'd hate to be Alec's future kid's teacher. Can you imagine what that poor soul will have to go through?

Do you think Alec could have handled this better?

He's a d-bag and while his sentiment was probably right his explosion took it all somewhere else. He should've just addressed it like his wife did or not at all. Threats, slurs, etc., not called for, now the story is about Alec not the jerk who originally wrote it.

And here we have it...When a liberal uses homophobic language or racist language, they are always "justified" in doing so.  Some days I am just sick with the hypocrisy that I can't stand people anymore.

He went way too far. If he hadn't gone on his rant 90% of the world wouldn't have even known about that bit of gossip. He made it worse and revealed his homophobia. The sheer volume of tweets is not "defending your wife" it's "you have real rage issues". Pair that with his emotionally abusive parenting style and his hair trigger temper, I predict divorce within five years.

So Paula Deen gets her life destroyed and Alec is justified? Right...

@thetruthteller african americans are a legally protected group, homosexuals are not, and until that changes a double standard will apply.

Can you guys read? No one said he was justified, everyone says he's wrong. What I can understand is being bothered by the accusation, not the response Alec gave which was terrible. It is NOT ok when anyone does it, Alec or Paula. And I think that was pretty clear in all responses. Perhaps you're just used to reading what you already expect? "truth teller" you're a liar.

Lets also not forget that there are many verified incidents of Paula's, like the slave waiter party, the joke about her black friend no one can see(it's a black curtain behind her), and so on. She's finally been caught and deserves everything she gets. As does Alec.

Asked Dee " Can you guys read? No one said he was justified"  Says Kiri "but this time it's pretty justified"

In reading the context I'm pretty sure she meant justified being angry, not justified in what he said. And I agree, I would've been mad & offended, I definitely would not have responded that way. The upset is justified, not the handling of it, the reporter was wrong & it is pretty low to make the accusation, but none of the justifies the response. If Alec had said hey, maybe you're just learning about time zones but you're wrong & should apologize, I don't think anyone would be upset and he would be in the right. But he's a dbag so he came back by saying much worse. Him & Mel Gibson are psychos & I don't support anything they do. Chris Brown too for that matter.

Dee - however you want to try and spin it the reporter indicated both in the story and the headline that Baldwin was justified in using homophobic slurs against the reporter.
