I wish I could say I was surprised. He's still grabbing headlines for one ridiculous drama after another. The accident in question happened in May, but police are just filing charges for a criminal hit-and-run because he allegedly failed to give the correct contact information after the minor fender bender in L.A.
Though he did get out of his car, he may have driven away without showing a valid driver's license or proof of insurance. It's a move that could land the troubled star in jail. It seems that this would be a violation of the probation that resulted from his notorious assault of ex-girlfriend Rihanna. If he's found guilty, he could be sentenced to up to four years in jail. That is some serious time.
For his part, Chris doesn't seem to be taking that threat seriously. He tweeted:
It's not a hit and run if u get out the car, exchange information (who has NO DAMAGE to either cars). This is really ridiculous.
What's ridiculous is his refusal to grow up. He continues to throw violent tantrums (he smashed a window at GMA) and get into brawls. Since community service and probation haven't helped him change that attitude, perhaps the threat of time behind bars will. It's clear he's learned nothing from everything he's done and been through. It's such a shame that someone so talented would continue to behave this way, clearly ungrateful for the second chance he has been given. He can't keep acting like this forever, can he?
Do you think these charges are bogus?
