The ladies of The Bachelorette are all getting together for a Men Tell All episode coming up in July, and it sounds like Desiree Hartsock, Ashley Hebert, Emily Maynard, and Ali Fedotowsky all got along famously. In fact, Ali called Des "one of the most genuine people I've met." This actually explains a lot.
Des IS genuine. She seems to be in it "for the right reasons" and looking for love. She seems to be sweet and genuinely interested in getting to know these men. I mean, just look at the way she talked about her parents and their happy marriage. It was so cute and sweet and definitely all from her heart.
It also makes for one seriously, SERIOUSLY boring season.
I know we fans say again and again that we want real love on the show and that the show has completely strayed from its original message, but let's be realistic: The FUN comes from drama and drama comes from questioning people's intentions.
Was Emily really interested in love? Hell no. She was always interested in fame and money. It was obvious since the get-go. We have seen so many Bachelors and Bachelorettes come and go, and the one thing that has been consistent is that the more sincere the person, the less interesting the season.
That wasn't always true. Trista Sutter back in the day was all about the love and also managed to make a good show. But that ship has sailed. Now, the girls who know how to play it get a good show, and those who really would like love end up getting dazzled by fame and becoming jaded (like Ali) or bore us all to tears.
So, yes. Desiree is genuine and good. And she will be looking for love for a long, long time. But her show? May be cancelled. The ratings are low. Because it's BO-RING. In fact, I would argue that this is the most boring season of the show EVER, which I guess kind of makes it unique.
See how it all comes together?
Do you think this season is boring?
