Last week on RHONJ, things were looking so hopeful for a reunion between Teresa Giudice and Joe Gorga. Then tonight ... all hell broke loose again.
After Caroline Manzo's intervention and with their father in the ICU, it looked like Teresa and Joe were a small talk and a few hugs away from making nice again. Then Joe got sick, and it came out that he really wasn't ready to be around Teresa and Joe Giudice after all and wasn't about to go to Gia's party either. Whether he was really sick or not was questionable, but when he sent Melissa Gorga in his place, there was no question that it wasn't going to end well. Hell, it didn't even start out well.
No sooner had Melissa walked through the door than Teresa's band of bitchy friends (Kim D. and Linda, the "skinny bitch" spy from the gym) cornered her and started interrogating her (or "interrogizing" her, as Teresa said) about why she was at "Teresa's gym" the other morning and why hadn't she gone to visit her father-in-law in the hospital. As if it were their business?
Melissa said she did go see him, the day after he was admitted. Teresa overhead this and pounced, as she claims it was four whole days before Melissa visited. Melissa did backtrack on her story once pressured and didn't seem sure exactly when she visited, but said it wasn't four days. Teresa wasn't buying it. "Why are you lying?" she asked her. Gia walked into the middle of it all and was clearly exasperated by their antics. "I hate this!" she told them.
With that Melissa stormed out before the cake was even cut and smeared all over Gia's face. She dragged out her kids, who -- along with Teresa's kids -- are being so unfairly involved this whole mess. I especially feel for Gia, whose 12th birthday was used as the stage for this drama. It's just not fair to them.
In the end Teresa was already worrying about what Melissa would go home and tell her husband Joe. Of course, Melissa is going to go tell him her side of the story, and it will drive an even deeper wedge between him and Teresa. So we're back to square one, or even a little behind it.
Honestly, after tonight, I can't even say whose side I'm on anymore. While Teresa should have never ambushed Melissa like that at her daughter's birthday party, Melissa did seem a little sketchy about her answer. Is it really that hard to remember what day of the week you did something so recently? I've previously been pretty strongly on Team Gorga, but lately, Melissa, in particular, is seeming less and less like the innocent victim she wants us to believe she is. Of course Teresa laughing about Jacqueline Laurita and Kathy Wakile being "fat asses" was so horrible, I can't say I'm on her team after tonight either. So I don't know. The only thing I do know -- that Kim D. is the most despicable of all.
Which side are you on -- Team Gorga or Team Giudice?
