The premiere of Dancing With the Stars season 17 is still a ways off, but so far it sounds like the format of the show is going to be much different than what we're used to. Instead of airing over two nights, it's now going down to only one evening per week. Then there are those pesky rumors about the judges being replaced -- or possibly a fourth judge being added to freshen things up a bit.
And based on a few comments made by DWTS pro Peta Murgatroyd, it sounds as though producers are hoping the changes will open up the ballroom to a whole new genre of viewers.
She told Wetpaint that she thinks combining the show into one night will make for a "bigger and younger" audience, and she also says we should expect a few "new and exciting celebs" to sign on as cast members. Huh. If I didn't know any better, I'd say it sounds like DWTS is trying to appeal to more kids 30 and under viewers, which means odds are good we'll see some pretty trendy faces on the season 17 roster.
Hmm. New, exciting, and young. There are quite a few people who fall into one or all of those categories who would be a great fit for the show. Check out the photos below to see who just might be capable of making DWTS the hippest show on TV.
