A viola player named Natalie Holt has done something countless Simon Cowell haters have long dreamed of. In the middle of the Britain's Got Talent finale performance, she pelted the judge with raw eggs. Simon's reaction to the attack? Not what anyone expected. Watch the entire shocking attack go down.
Natalie had been a contestant the previous year, but was playing in the backup orchestra for singers Richard and Adam Johnson, who were singing "The Impossible Dream." Simon was sitting next to fellow judges Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, and David Walliams when Natalie got up, walked between the performers, and began lobbing the eggs at the unsuspecting Simon. It was wild.
Instead of being outraged, incensed, and throwing some nasty barb her way, he simply changed his jacket and continued watching the performance. He was cool as a cucumber. Later, he addressed the incident via Twitter:
He had a pretty good attitude about it, don't you think. After years of eviscerating performances on American Idol and X Factor too, I am sure he is used to people hating him. Natalie later issued an apology stating, "I want to apologize to Richard and Adam for overshadowing their performance. I've never done anything like this before and in hindsight I have realized it was a silly thing to do." She said she did it to protest what reality shows like that represent. From her perspective, it was more about the judges than truly talented individuals. Lucky for her, Simon and the show have no plans to press charges.
Do you think Simon deserved this egg attack?
