Lately LeAnn Rimes seems to be a little all over the place. Every other second she's in some sort of snarky verbal battle with Real Housewife Brandi Glanville. And then there's this whole TV show with husband Eddie Cibrian. While I don't really think LeAnn has the slightest clue on what goes into making a "scripted series" TV show, she does know a thing or two about being in the spotlight from a young age.
Rimes, who started her singing career at 13 years old, recently wrote a blog for Yahoo! where she said being a child star definitely messes with your mind a bit. When it does, the only person that has control over gaining control is yourself. "If someone wants to take care of themselves, it's really their decision," said Rimes. "No one can really force them to do so."
Well ain't that the truth. LeAnn has a point, for sure -- but I'm wondering if she's listening to herself talk here. When was the last time you stopped and looked at how you're handling your own situation, Le?
OK, so things with LeAnn could be a lot worse. I mean, look at some of the crazy things other child stars have gotten into. There's Amanda Bynes and her ridiculous downward spiral, Britney's head-shaving stint of 2007, Lindsay Lohan's entire existence, and heck -- even Justin Bieber has had his moments. Getting thrust into the spotlight at a young age opens you up for ridiculous amounts of criticism that most people don't even face throughout an entire lifetime. It's a lot of pressure. It's a lot to handle. And that's why so many celebrities crack.
So while I don't think LeAnn has 100 percent cracked per se (she still does have all her hair), I do think she's letting all of this fame go to her head. That's where all these crazy Twitter exchanges come from. That's why she reaches out to the media to tell her side of the story. That's why she's seeking out this scripted show. And like she said, only she can give herself a reality check -- off camera.
What do you think?
