In case you haven't heard, fans of Game of Thrones had a fairly traumatic weekend after watching "The Rains of Castamere," which featured the Red Wedding. The scene was a shocking, violent twist that caused the Internet to explode, and if you're not nearly as invested or don't really give a crap about this show -- well, consider yourselves lucky!
But that means you're going to miss out on and/or not understand so much awesome stuff that has come out since the heart-wrenching episode. Case in point? A video featuring the best reactions to the Red Wedding scene. Some fans are completely floored. Some freak the hell out. Some just ... kinda sit there. WTF? Are they dead inside ... or did they just read the books and knew what was coming? Well, you'll have to see for yourself.
SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T YET SEEN "THE RAINS OF CASTAMERE"!!! Sorry for the capital letters and bolding and exclamation points, but you have been warned.
Here are some of the best reactions to the Red Wedding! NSFW language:
How awesome is that old guy in the middle? "Oh no! Ohhhh shiiit! Ohh! Oh really?" Yep, that's pretty much in a nutshell how it all goes down. I'm still surprised people were so able to keep it together and sit still. I've read A Storm of Swords numerous times now and let out a gasp or curse word or two now and then.
It was nothing like Lena Headey's reaction, who plays the gorgeous Cersei Lannister on Game of Thrones (how did they even recognize her??). She calls the whole episode "beautiful." Definitely not the first word to come to my mind, but seeing as she looks like a total hipster, it's not all that shocking for her to give such a hipster answer:
But the best reaction has to be from little Arya Stark herself. Maisie Williams, the actress who plays her, sums it up the best way possible:
Can we just say thank goodness Arya made it out okay at the end of episode 9 (thanks to the Hound, of all people!). If they had killed off Arya -- I don't think I'd be able to deal. Seriously. It was hard enough watching her "mutha" and "brutha" dying all in one scene -- let's hope Arya can somehow avenge them!
What was your reaction to the Red Wedding scene? Anything like these?
