Um, you'd think he'd back off and leave her alone considering he dumped her on national television and all, but Bachelor Sean Lowe is giving Desiree Hartsock advice as she searches for true love on The Bachelorette. (Nothing like getting pointers from a dude who looked you in the eye and said in not so many words, "I don't want you.")
And while Sean's tips for Des as far as surviving her season in one piece and adapting to her new found fame are all well and good -- something tells me it's not going to be easy for her to adhere to what he has to say.
At the Pool After Dark at Harrah's Resort in Atlantic City, Sean passed on his advice for Des to Hollywood Life: "Don't let it go to your head because you're going to get attacked by everybody." He added, "Have a thick skin. Just be true to who you are and you’ll be fine."
Huh. So basically all Des has to do is be herself -- and not let anything get under her skin. Yeah, that's easier said than done when you're being ripped to shreds in the media. And when you're a person who's as tenderhearted as Desiree, it's damn near impossible to let every insult you hear go in one ear and out the other.
Since it's so early on in her season, Des is still America's sweetheart and has plenty of fans rooting for her. But as the weeks go on, many of them will start to turn on her, as is the case with pretty much everyone who winds up being the Bachelor or Bachelorette. Remember how ga-ga everyone was for Sean after Emily Maynard let him go? But then by the end of his season, he was pretty much a joke.
The same thing is bound to happen to Des, and by the end of this thing, she's probably going to regret ever having signed up for the gig in the first place. Unless she somehow beats the odds by not only finding her Prince Charming -- but also making it all the way to the altar and living happily ever after, being The Bachelorette may prove to be one of the biggest mistakes she ever made.
Do you think Des will be able to ignore her critics?
