Before we dive into today's batch of True Blood Season 6 spoilers and such, let's talk about the one and only (phew!) Mr. Bill Compton for a moment, shall we? To review: We liked Bill, then Eric came along and we still liked Bill (just not as much), then Bill got all insufferably self-righteous and we stopped liking him altogether and then he turned into Billith and we were like REALLY?! There, that brings us up to speed. So going into Season 6, I think we're all sort of on the same page -- if Bill ain't back to normal (relatively speaking), we're done with that dude.
Unfortunately, according to former showrunner Alan Ball, the Bill we all know and tolerate love is gone, baby gone. But what IS he? Is he really the reincarnation of Lilith?! And is Lilith ... GOD?!?!
“I don’t want to say if he is or he isn’t," said Ball. “Who’s to say what Lilith really is? He is still Bill but he is something different.”
“It is Bill, but it is a transformed Bill. He is not a completely new person. It’s not like his memories or his experiences have been left out and he’s just a baby.”
“Is he going to be evil? What does he want? What is he going to do? Will he be able to revert back to Bill? That’s for future seasons. The implication, certainly, is that he is more ferocious.”
Oh NO. More ferocious = Harder for Eric to get rid of once and for all! Unless, of course, some other, even more ferocious creature battles Bill ... and Alan Ball did drop some serious hints about the mysterious Warlowe's role in Season 6:
“I think he’ll be kind of a big part in it," he said.
As long as we get to hear Lafayatte say "Creepy spirit thing, why you in Sookie bathroom?" I'll be happy.
Do you think Bill will be some kind of god in True Blood Season 6?
