Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love's daughter Frances Bean Cobain made headlines in 2011 when she posed for an absolutely stunning series of photos, and at that time, it looked like she was forging her own path in the wake of her all-too-famous parents. This seemed like a very good thing, considering her father's tragically self-destructive behavior, and her mom's ... um, however you'd describe Love's personal life choices. But even though she sounded mature and well-spoken just a year ago when she decried her estranged mother's social media behavior, Cobain seems to be following in her mom's Twitter footsteps now -- because she just went OFF on a crazy rant against Kendall Jenner.
Yes: that Kendall Jenner. I'm not sure why Cobain is following a Kardashian on Twitter, or why she cares what Jenner has to say, but she started a ridiculous one-sided tweet war against the teen model on Tuesday and came off sounding like a complete douchebag in the process.
It all started when Jenner vague-tweeted the following morose, misspelled statement:
Just wish things could be easier sometimes mann
Granted, such a sentiment is a little on the eye-roll-y side coming from an impossibly rich reality star, model, and brand ambassador, but to her credit, Jenner is only 17 years old. And who doesn't indulge in some public whining now and then?
Cobain, however, decided to school Jenner on the exact nature of her First World Problem tweet:
@KendallJenner oh shh. There are kids on earth abandoned &homeless who forcibly drink contaminated water because clean water isn't accessible.
Oh ya, not to mention, CANCER, famine, poverty, drought, disease, natural disasters, Death, fuck, Humans are so self involved
i’d rather be a scumbag than a fucking idiot. Praise high IQ’s, good taste & awareness about the state of the world
Good grief. Pardon me while I bask in the astounding wisdom of Frances Bean Cobain and allow her profound words to change my worldview once and for all. Now hear this, now hear this! According to Kurt Cobain's daughter, no complaints shall be allowed unless you're specifically mentioning cancer, famine, poverty, disease, natural disaster, death, or contaminated water!
Anyway, regardless of whether or not Kendall Jenner is out of touch with the REAL problems of the world, Cobain's response was overkill, to say the least. I can't believe I'm saying this, but ... I'm on Team Kardashian in this particular flamewar.
Cobain's since deleted most of the tweets, but left this one up as a reminder that Courtney Love helped provide her with the sort of high IQ that encourages a person to engage in online attacks:
What do you think of this Twitter spat? Do you think Kendall Jenner deserved the criticism?
