'Real Housewives of New York' Settle Salary War With Bravo -- Phew!

Real Housewives of New YorkWell that was a close and dramatic one. It really looked like The Real Housewives of New York City was going to be cancelled due to the ladies and Bravo fighting over their salaries. It was down to the wire Friday with Bravo threatening to axe heads if they didn't sign their contracts that day. Fortunately, one by one, they did -- but not without a little drama.

According to Us Weekly, Ramona Singer was the first to sign early Friday. That's not surprising, as I don't think she does it so much for the salary as for the publicity for her other businesses. And because I think she just gets a kick out of it. Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, and Aviva Drescher all also signed without much fanfare.

Two of the other RHONY ladies, however, dragged their heels all day, and didn't give in until the final hours on Friday.

Sources told Us that Carole Radziwill and Heather Thomson made everyone wait until late Friday to sign their contracts. Via Twitter Carole kept fans guessing as to what she was going to do. She wrote:

I still haven’t decided,' Carole tweeted on Friday. 'Payscale is ridix+it irks me to be given ultimatums. Just ask my last 5 boyfriends. :) What about you? Irksome?

Ha! She's right though, the payscale is pretty uneven. According to Naughty but Nice Rob, Ramona and LuAnn each earn $500,000, while Sonja gets $350,000. Aviva, Heather, and Carole reportedly make just $150,000. But that's seniority for you. And really, $150,000 for 16 weeks of work is pretty ridix any way you look at it.

I'm glad Carole, in particular, came around  in the end though. She did pretty much no wrong during her first season, but as we know from history, no one can stay above the fray for long when it comes to these shows. It will be interesting to see if "Cool Carole" can do it.

So the whole gang is back. While I would have liked to see some new blood (and LuAnn finally get the boot), I'd rather have all of them back than none of them. Starting from scratch in the Big Apple would have been a shame with all of the history there and delayed things way too long. That being said, however, if they don't deliver more than they did last season, then I hope Bravo sharpens that axe.

Let the filming begin!

Are you relieved that The Real Housewives of New York will be returning?

Personally you can scrap the whole show!! Create a sitcom for Carole and Bethany! I imagine it would be a modern day Laverne & Shirley!!

I find it so hard to believe that Luann makes more than Sonia Love Sonia, she is spicy

They are way over paid. Seriously, how hard do they really work. The countess is the worst one. No one wants to see her ever!!! She is paid $499,999.99 to much.
