Justin Bieber's Beer-Drinking Photo May Break Some Hearts (PHOTO)

OMG 26

justin bieberHave you seen the photo of Justin Bieber drinking a beer? The 19-year-old pop star is on tour in South Africa and posted a pic of himself, tongue out, hat backwards, enjoying a cold one while on safari with a buddy. Although the little guy isn't yet 21, he's clearly got a taste for the fizzy adult beverage.

And since the legal drinking age is 18 in South Africa, Bieber's well within his right to toss back a brewski or dozen while visiting Johannesburg. It looks like he was having a good time, too -- Justin also shared photos of elephants with hashtags "in the wild" and "God is good." Glad to see the pop star's at least soaking in some culture as he soaks in the booze.

This isn't the first time Bieber's imbibed. I'd wager my house that he was drinking alcohol out of that red Solo cup in the "Call Me Maybe" lip sync video. (House party of teens + Solo cups = drinky drinky.) Plus, he's admitted before that he's had a drink in the past, but has maintained he's never gotten "out of control."

Just a few weeks ago, it seemed like J.B. was unravelling. From the gas-masked outing in London to his Anne Frank message to the allegations of pot use, there wasn't a moment he wasn't accidentally or intentionally stirring controversy. Now, he's (somewhat) at it again with this beer selfie.

Even though he's not breaking any laws, he might be breaking some young fans' hearts. Is the role model they once loved turning into the dreaded teenager everyone hates?

Cheers, Justin. Cheers.

What do you think of Justin's pic?

I am not bieber's biggest fan, but this article is grasping at straws to find something to blame him for. He is abiding by that country's laws, which allow him to drink. Why exactly are you expecting him to abide by our laws when not in our country?

As for your "solo cup + teens = drinky drinky" logic, what a crock of shit. Plenty of teens don't drink because they have the good sense not to. I personally did not wish to break the law, especially when I didn't know my own tolerance yet. I still buy solo cups, mostly because I like singing the song in my head while I shop. Big whoop.

One thing I want to say is about "the little guy isn't yet 21". Justin's Canadian, and I'm pretty sure the drinking age there is only 18 or 19. In any case, I don't have a big problem with this. Other things he's doing (like drugs!) are different. He definitely shouldn't be anyone's role model at this point in his life.

The only travesty here is that he's drinking his beer out of a CAN. Come on my little Biebs, you're rich! Spring for at least bottled beer.

No, no, no, Leah. You pour it into a mug or glass and then enjoy, silly girl.

When in Rome, do as Romans do...

In Canada, depending on the province, the legal drinking age is either 18 or 19. (Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec are 18, the rest are 19)...so while it may offend the US, you are the one of the few countries in the world with a 21 yr old drinking age....

He's a Canadian in South Africa so why would he abide by US drinking laws? 19 is plenty old enough to have a beer. He's an adult, don't slam him simply for having an adult beverage.

completely wrong, Rhonda. Its fine if he drinks sonce thats the legal age in South Africa BUT do not say he is an adult. 20+ is an adult...13 - 19 is a TEEN.

It's sort of funny how he became a role model for young tween girls when he was so young himself and everyone expects him to retain that innocence of his youth. Does anyone remember Britney Spears and how many hearts she broke because she grew up? How about Melissa Milano? The only bad thing they did was grow up.
