The Chris Brown and Rihanna breakup is going swimmingly compared to their breakup in 2009 when Brown bashed his then-girlfriend's face repeatedly -- but still, things seem to be heating up and I don't mean in a good way. The on-off pair have always had a habit of sparring (and cooing) over Twitter and things are no different this time. The two have had some choice words to say to each other -- presuming it IS to each other -- recently.
It all started when Chris let the world know that he and RiRi were done (for now) by telling a radio station that he wasn't ready to be "wife-ing" Rihanna. Reportedly, she was so infuriated by that comment, that she actually picked up the phone (woah!) and let him have it. You know she's gotta be mad if actual voice traveling through cell waves was involved. A source told the Sun Times:
She really blasted him, using language that made it sound like she never will get back with him again — no matter what people think. She really thought that was a sexist, degrading thing for him to say. Especially after all Rihanna endured after he beat her and all that.
I know, right? You would think a guy who beat you would be much nicer and more mature, wouldn't you? Wait, WHAT?
So Rihanna took to Twitter (surprise) to do that whole "cryptweet" thing (see Ian Somerhalder). She wrote:
Settling is not an option! Nothing less than 100% loyalty, honesty, and respect!! Love ain't for kidz #butimsleeptho— Rihanna (@rihanna) May 7, 2013
Today, Chris seemed to answer her when he tweeted:
She's not mine if she's everybody else's.— Chris Brown(@chrisbrown) May 10, 2013
Oooh, burn! I think? Anyway, at least there's no fists involved this time -- just verbal jabs. So ... progress?
Do you think Chris and Rihanna will ever get back together?
