keira knightleyKeira Knightley is a married woman now! On Saturday, May 4, the star wed boyfriend and Klaxons keyboardist James Righton. A source tells Us Weekly that it was a very moving ceremony and that Keira cried tears or joy as they exchanged their vows. Well, she certainly had more than one reason to be happy. She pulled off something most stars are incapable of doing.

She had a small, lovely, low-key wedding. The couple, who got engaged last May,  said 'I do' in front of a small group of guests at a town hall in Mazan, France. With so many lavish, star-studded nuptials, her quiet ceremony comes as a refreshing surprise. Most celebrities get hitched in lavish, six-figure fetes that are just too over-the-top to believe.

We were drop-jawed looking at the photos from Katie Holmes and tom Cruise's amazing ceremony at a 15th-Century castle outside of Rome. The guest list read like Academy Award nominations list. Then of course there are the Kardashian weddings -- both Khloe and Kim's made-for-TV extravaganzas were more like movie sets than sweet family memories in the making.

That clearly wasn't what Keira and James had in mind. During an interview with Ellen Degeneres in November, she confessed she didn't have any fairytale-like bridal fantasies. For her, the day was simply about getting hitched, then drinking a bit. Sounds a lot less stressful than what most brides go through and she certainly got her wish.

Rather than sport some huge, billowing, crystal-lined gown, she opted for a simple and chic strapless, tulle dress designed by Chanel's Karl Lagerfeld. She even accessorized the look with a cropped jacket and flats. It was quite cute. They kept their plans secret from fans, paparazzi, and most of Hollywood. After the short ceremony, they were snapped leaving the town hall holding hands and literally beaming with joy as his bandmates and her mom cheered them on. Later they had an intimate party at her mother's nearby estate.

What do you think about Keira's intimate wedding?
