Amanda Bynes Reaches Out to Parents & Hopefully They Can Save Her

Could Amanda Bynes finally be coming to the end of what seems like a long manic episode that started with a DUI and has culminated with a series of bizarre half-nude tweets? Sources say that the actress (can we call her that anymore?) has recently reached out to her parents -- whom she had cut out of her life awhile ago. Perez Hilton reports that Amanda made contact with her worried parents and tried to mend fences.

Says the source:

Amanda reconnected with her parents this week and it was a really positive talk on both ends. Her parents are good people who are genuinely concerned for her. And Amanda misses them, so she finally called them up. The last place Amanda wants to be is Los Angeles. She likes New York and doesn’t want to leave. But Amanda’s parents really want to see her so they’re thinking of flying out to New York as early as next week.

He or she adds that Amanda isn't crazy -- she's just plays crazy on TV (or on Twitter in this case):

Amanda is totally acting odd, but she’s not crazy at all like people are making her out to be. She’s just going through a hard time in her life and maybe not coping with it like she should be.

I never thought Amanda was truly mentally disturbed. But she's obviously acting out in a bid to draw attention to herself. LOTS of attention. But there is indeed a fine line between clinically mentally ill and temporarily off your rocker -- I think we all go through the ladder occasionally. But most of us don't document the whole thing for almost a million followers and the media.

Anyway, perhaps Amanda reaching out to her folks is the first step towards her coming back to something resembling normalcy. At the very least, maybe they can convince her to shut down her Twitter account for awhile.

Do you think Amanda's parents can help her?

I am assuming that you meant "latter" not "ladder".

Hehe, I refreshed this page three times to see if anyone else caught that. I was worried I'd been saying it wrong my whole life.

Wow, some people can be so petty (latter, ladder), you DID get the gist of the article did you not? How superficial!
I really hope her parents can help her. I wonder if she is in need of mental help, love and support, just a good long break from LA lifestyle. Whatever the case, if she called them she must be in need of her parents, and I know it's not for their lack of trying. It's well known that have moved once already to help her.
You really just cannot force anyone to go for help, unless they are potentially a danger to themselves or others.
But I truly hope she accepts any help she is offered.

I hope she allows her parents to aid her in getting help. This young women was so cute & fresh faced. I really think this is so very sad for her to damage herself & the world just stands by & watches.... Heart breaking
