Whew! Is it hot in here or is it just me? Latin night definitely kicked things up a notch on tonight's episode of Dancing With the Stars, and we got to enjoy some of the most entertaining performances of the season thus far.
But aside from the extra hip shaking and sex appeal, what was up with the whole immunity thing? I mean, I know they have to keep things interesting and change up each season a bit, but I'm just not sure how I'm feeling about DWTS meeting Survivor.
And while I guess I can see giving a little extra credit to the couple with the highest score of the night -- something about the immunity challenge just seemed unfair.
Especially since Aly Raisman and Mark Ballas totally got screwed. When they tied for first place with Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough, I figured there would be some sort of dance-off between the two couples to see who wound up winning immunity. But instead, they had to go and give it to Kellie and Derek, the couple with the highest overall score of the season. That was the tie breaker. No warning. No nothin'. (Unless I missed that part somehow.)
Am I the only one who thinks that was really, really unfair to Mark and Aly? They earned their 29 points just like Kellie and Derek -- and Mark even danced with an injury. If nothing else, they should've had the chance to face off one more time to try and win the chance to stay safe during tomorrow night's elimination.
Just in case you missed their Salsa, take a look at the clip below. (Um, they were awesome.)
Even the dance-off between the six remaining couples to score a few extra points with the judges seemed a bit biased too. If they really wanted to give everyone a fair shot, they would've had the bottom two teams dance off for the extra points -- not the rest of the crew.
It will be interesting to see who winds up going home tomorrow night, extra points or not. And I'm pretty confident in calling it at this point. My prediction? This was Andy Dick's last week in the ballroom.
Do you think Aly and Mark were treated unfairly?
