Big news on the Fifty Shades of Grey movie front -- online hackers, a group simply and cleverly known as Anonymous, hacked into a German film studio's files and got some dirt on who will be playing the lead actress in the upcoming flick. These are the same hackers who released Kanye and Beyonce's personal information, and who've also taken credit for cyber-attacking the Pentagon and threatening to bring down Facebook. Point is, they know what they're doing, so when they say they've found out that Emma Watson is confirmed to play Anastasia Steele, I believe them.
Hermione Granger, huh? Who knew.
She's been a front-runner for while now, but I guess I never actually thought she'd end up being the one cast because, well, I kind of think of Emma Watson as too good for the role. She successfully moved on from her Harry Potter days by showing us her sexy side in Burberry campaigns and her savvy side in Perks of Being a Wallflower, so I just didn't think she needed to take on a project as, how you say, commercial as this.
Seems like something a Selena Gomez or a Nina Dobrev or a Lucy Hale would need, not an Emma Watson.
That said, the fact that Emma's name is attached to the project makes me think that maybe the film won't be as cheesy as I'm imagining. Maybe Emma sees something in the script that makes her believe this would be a career booster, not a career ruiner. She does love a franchise, though, so perhaps she signed on just because she likes film roles that come in packages of three or more?
We'll find out in the near future if what the hackers found is truly accurate, but in the meantime, couldn't they just snoop around a little more and see who's playing Christian Grey? Please?
Do you think Emma Watson is a good pick for Ana?

So what is the 8th person the stir has "confirmed" who would play this lead?
emma watson is too good for this crap.
Totally agreeing with LostSoul88. You change it every few days.
I don't know if Emma Will be good in the movie, period. One of the reasons I didn't enjoy "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" is because her American accent is deplorable. But I am a big fan of Hermoine Granger, and I think Emma is very pretty.
Universal and Focus just said an hr ago that this is not true. So there you have it. They said no one has been cast yet, they need a director. EL James just said last month that they have to hire a filmmaker first and that casting is still far off.
ive always wanted alexis bledel to play ana, but i wouldnt be disappointed on bit if emma was to play her.
