Leave it to Chelsea Handler to say what everybody else is thinking -- or at least what I've been thinking -- about Taylor Swift. As you're no doubt completely and thoroughly aware, Swift is making news for overreacting to a couple of hysterical cracks made by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler about her Swift-ly changing love life (apparently when questioned by a Vanity Fair reporter about how the jokes made her feel, Taylor responded with a quote from her "buddy" Katie Couric: "There's a special place in hell for women who don't help other women.")
Which was of course a melodramatic, immature reaction to what was essentially a bit of good-natured ribbing, but that's not really the point of this post -- the point is something Chelsea Handler said in regards to Taylor Swift's seeming inability to hang on to a guy. See, Handler's hypothesis is something I've suspected to be true for quite some time.

"My theory about Taylor Swift is that she's a virgin, that everyone breaks up with her because they date her for two weeks and she's like, 'I'm not gonna do it.' And they're like, 'Oh, well, forget it. Then I don't want to date you. Every guy thinks they're going to devirginize her, and they're not. She's never going to get devirginized, ever, ever, ever, ever."
YES!!! I knew it! It's the only, only, only explanation that makes any sense at all. I mean, it's true that Swift seems to have an incredibly irritating personality and all, but she IS a beautiful, talented girl who seems to get dumped an awful lot for a beautiful, talented girl.
Now, Chelsea Handler wasn't judging Taylor Swift and neither am I -- whether that girl goes into the convent or opens up a brothel is irrelevant to me -- but I'm SO glad I'm not the only one who thinks lack of sex is at the root of most of Taylor's problems.

Wow! I have so much hate for this article I was almost not going to grace it with a comment!
Where do I begin?! I guess I'll just get to the main point. Yes, you and Ms. Handler are judging her. Since when is a woman's virtue a bad thing? Since when is it a thing to hold up for ridicule? And wasn't it Ms. Handler who lost her virginity when she was a teen with tragic consequences? That being an abortion? Isn't Ms. Swift's virtue then a postive thing to hold up to the youthful female gender? Yes, she may date quite a few men and can't seem to hold onto one. But isn't it also true that the media has been displaying this woman's relationships under a microscope? I think a young woman dating (and not sleeping around) is a good thing so she can find the person she wants to live with for the rest of her life.
You women are so quick to judge women who rush into relationships that turn out badly but don't think, 'hey, good on her for getting out of it and moving onto the next.'

i say good for her, what a great example to my young, impressionable daughter that ms Swift is hanging on to her very private and personal beliefs about 'recreational sex'. she may be young and annoying as some are stating here, but good for her for knowing WHO she is and WHAT she belives in with her whole being.
