'50 Shades' Writer Reveals How 'Raunchy' Her Next Book Will Be

Say What!? 34

50 shades of greyYes, we all love this Fifty Shades of Grey phenomenon. I too enjoy a good conversation about who should play Christian Grey and what actress could handle all that on-screen playfulness. The reality is, though, that the books have been out for a while now, and I don't know about you -- but I'm looking for something new. Something adventurous. Something ... just as playful.

Yeah, I could look to some steamy romance novel, but I want the next big thing. Which is why all of us Fifty Shades of Grey fans are in luck because E.L. James says she's thinking about her next novel. But there's a catch. A big catch. One that is totally unsexy and makes me wonder: will anything ever top the original?

E.L. told the New York Post that her next novel is going to be tamer than Fifty Shades of Grey. "It won't nearly be as raunchy," to be specific. I'm all for exploring your writing style and trying new things, I get that. Come on though, James! You've made fans. Fans who adore your flirtatious writing. Fans who want more!

The other thing I can't get over? She may have been joking, but James told the New York Post that she may write her next book under another name! Really!? If she really means it, what's the point of having such an awesome bestseller and earning all that clout just to start over fresh? Fifty Shades of Grey has sold more than 40 million copies, for crying out loud! Don't you want to work off of that?

Sigh. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what's on tap for E.L.'s next book. Raunchy or not, there will never be another Fifty Shades, and hey, maybe there just isn't meant to be.

Do you think E.L. James should write another book with a Fifty Shades vibe? Or would you rather see her do something different?

Doing a different style won't hurt...there's more to life than sex xD

If you want raunchy and naughty, I have a few choice authors for you that I have read and loved.
Before 50 shades came out I was reading Laurell K Hamiltons Anita Blake Series. (Vampires/Werewolves and were animals), but the naughty bits were fab. She has also written about they fae (faeries) and other mythical creatures in her Merry Gentry Series and can only describe them as wow what an imagination, one of my favorite female authors.
Lara Adrian has also written some good stuff.
Would also recommend Stephanie Rowe and F.E. Heaton (also writes as Felicity Heaton) now they are really good too

Stay with what works. I loved Fifty Shades of Grey. Stick with it!

she needs to keep up with the style her fifty shades of grey books gave, they will sell more because we all need a little raunchy in our life.

Yes E.L. James is a great Writer. She has QUITE an Imagination. Lets Face It Everyone, 50 Shades was GREAT!!! That is why it stayed on the Best Sellers List for so long. Whatever she is planning next should absolutely be under her now famous name. Why even consider changing her name. She already has a reputation for her writing. Can't wait for the 50 Shades Movie but in the meantime, yes she should write another book. Now the real issue and question is should it have all the "Raunchiness" in it? I did not look at it that way when reading the Triology. But I can tell you this, she is very good at it and should continue writing in the style that made all this so famous.....Can't wait to see what she writes next.

I wouldn't want her to start under a new pen name though! Stay with erotica E.L.!

She should use her own name and stay with the style of 50 Shades it was a fabulous read.

Dakota Fanning should be considered to play Anastasia. She is a fantastic actor and would be able to easily play the role of an innocent young woman. She is also excellent in a dramatic role. I think it would be a perfect fit for her.

Yes, she needs to add to the last book. It left us hanging. We need to have more sex with him and Ana.It is such a good love story we need and want more. She says that in the end of book three.
