A few days ago, Kim Kardashian announced that she was quitting Keeping Up With the Kardashians. And, embarrassingly, I was sad. And I admit I was sad. But egg on my face today boy, because, now, Kim is saying: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, people. I never said that! I'm going to be on reality TV forever! Well, she didn't use those exact words, but that was the sentiment more or less. And I'm not going to lie here: Right now, I'm kind of feeling like Seinfeld when he told Elaine he loved her when he thought the plane was going down. And then it didn't. Awk-ward.
Various news outlets, including this here one, reported that Kim was going to do KUWTK up through season 9, and then it was time for her to bow out. But not the case apparently. In her personal blog, Kim released the statement:
As everyone knows, we are extremely proud of the show and all of us are staying on through at least season 10. The show remains to be my number 1 priority and it's a big part of my life and I enjoy every moment of it. It has given me such a rare opportunity to share more of my life with all of you and has brought my family closer to each other. I'm looking forward to the new season and beyond. The fact is that I have many goals that I still need to reach and accomplish and I (like so many of you) don't know where my life will be in the next couple of years, but I'm looking forward to continuing this journey.
Soooo ... looks like she's doing the show for one more season than we thought. That's cool. But this is all still kind of vague, though. I feel like the whole "continuing my journey" statement is the defacto thing a celeb says when they're intentionally trying leave something a mystery. Whatever. This is a classic Kim antic. A classic Kim that I apparently love/hate/hate/love.
In other news, some are speculating that the reason Kim quickly reneged on her statement is because she was offered a Kardashian booty-sized raise to continue on with an extra season. I wouldn't be shocked if that was the case, but who knows what's true anymore? It's also being reported that she got pregnant for $22 million. Nobody would actually do that ... would they?
Do you think Kim got a pay raise to stick around a little while longer?
