New 'DWTS' Casting Rumors Indicate We're in for a Real Treat With Season 16

We're only a few days away from an official announcement, but based on new Dancing With the Stars Season 16 casting rumors, it looks like we'll have a lot to look forward to in the ballroom this time around.

Remember yesterday how I talked about DWTS producers using a certain formula when choosing cast members to ensure they have a good mix of characters each season? Well, if they really want to play on viewers' feelings of nostalgia, they'll add Tiffany as a cast member.

Yes, Tiffany, as in the original pop star, as in "I Think We're Alone Now."

(Go ahead and sing your heart out. It's ok.)

Forty-one-year-old (OMG. She's 41?) Tiffany is definitely interested and told OK! magazine, "I'm very competitive in that sense, and I was actually a dancer for many years before I even got a record deal. It would be great to do Dancing With the Stars because that would revive those chops a little bit."

Ok, who else thinks casting Tiffany is a great idea? Being on DWTS would be such a fun comeback for her. And for my generation (mid-30-somethings), it would be a real treat to see her show off her dancing skills.

But if she does wind up making the cut, she'd better prepare for some pretty stiff competition. Rumor has it that a few people have already signed on for the show, including Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman. Considering how amazing Shawn Johnson was on the All-Star season, odds are good Aly has some serious moves as well.

And while he may not be a star athlete or anything like that, chef Bobby Flay knows his way around a kitchen, so maybe he's smooth on the dance floor? Yep, he's reportedly part of season 16 too.

But of course, the cast does have to have an athlete, and it's rumored to be boxer Victor Ortiz. (Hmm. Definitely not my first choice.)

Ugh. How are we supposed to wait until Tuesday morning to find out who made the cut?

Would you root for Tiffany on DWTS? What about Aly, Bobby, and Victor?

I love to watch Bobby Flay on food net work he is a great chef but he doesn't seem to be the type to be a ballroom dancer.  I think he would be out of place and probably voted off early in the show.  Who knows he might surprise me if he is one of the chosen ones.

If Tiffany was a dancer before becoming a singer then no I wouldn't. IMO she has an advantage.

If these rumors are true, we are not in for a treat at all. I have no idea who these people are, and most of the people I talk to who are fans of the show are equally clueless. DWTS is really scraping the bottom now.

"Real treat" would mean Bristol Palin and/or Katherine Jenkins coming back.

I would vote for Bobby Flay! I think he would be a great dancer! He is motivated and dedicated, what is not to like? Not to mention funny and handsome!
