Early Sunday morning, Rihanna was allegedly attacked by an angry fan who was incensed by her getting back together with Chris Brown. RiRi was leaving the afterparty celebration for the debut of her Island River collection at London Fashion Week with model Cara Delevingne and bestie Melissa Forde when a man reportedly threw a bottle of Lucozade, a British energy drink, at her. The incident caused Rihanna to fall and cut her knee on a metal shop grate. The man supposedly was screaming at Rihanna for rekindling her romance with Brown after he attacked her before the 2009 Grammys. Rihanna's body guard was also injured during the ordeal, and had to be hospitalized.
Dude. Nobody wants Rihanna back together with Chris Brown. (Except Chris Brown.) But attacking her over it? Really? Doesn't that kind of negate the point of being against them as a couple?
Personally, I'm getting to the point where I'm kind of done with yelling at Rihanna for being with Chris Brown. No, I don't think it's a good idea -- what Chris did was horrible, and Rihanna is sending a terrible message by getting back together with him. But Rihanna clearly doesn't give a shit what other people think, and she obviously isn't going to listen to anyone.
And also, I don't know her personally.
If she were an actual friend of mine, things would be different. But she's not. She's a celebrity. I don't have an actual say in her life, nor does this supposed "fan" who threw a drink at her. And really, dude? Throwing something at Rihanna because you're against violence? That seems pretty counter-intuitive.
Thankfully, Rihanna's fine, and if I were a betting woman, I'd say that the person who threw a drink at the singer was really just wasted and didn't care all that much about her getting back with Chris, but was more concerned about throwing shit at a celebrity.
'Cause that's the awesome kind of world we live in. Cheers, folks!
