Forget playing coy or trying to be subtle -- Chace Crawford wants to play Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, and he's being very vocal about it.
He told Fox, "I would love the challenge. I have not read the books, but what I know is that it is risqué, and to be honest, anything to shake up from the way I have been going would be good."
Hmm. Sure sounds like Chace is looking for a little action. And based on a few other comments he made, it sounds like Fifty Shades of Grey casting directors may miss out on a big opportunity if they don't give him some serious consideration.
First of all, he's not afraid to be cocky about wanting the role, a very Christian Grey-esque quality. He said, "Hey, if they ask me to come and read, I would definitely do so."
Translation -- "I'll gladly grace them with my presence if they're smart enough to give me an audition."
Oh yeah, one more thing about Chace that makes him a decent fit for Christian's role? He digs S&M. (Ohhhhhh. Yes. He. Does.)
He explains, "I am only comfortable with S&M sex scenes! The other ones are just too simple and boring for me. I actually think, whether it is a sex scene, or screaming at something to get something across. I think it is kind of attacked the same way, and you’re in the work mode, and you stay professional. It has never been awkward or intimidating."
Well, there you have it. Chace wants the role. And he's hot. And he digs simulated rough sex. (What else is there?)
It sure sounds like he's campaigning pretty hard to land the leading role in the Fifty Shades flick, but then again, maybe he has another plan up his sleeve?
Have you noticed lately when any actor or actress simply mentions the name Ana or Christian -- they automatically find themselves as the subject of several media articles? (Case in point, this one?)
Maybe Chace couldn't care less about playing Christian, and instead he is just smart enough to realize that simply talking about the film will get him quite a bit of publicity.
Huh. Even that sounds like something Christian Grey would probably do. (Interesting.)
Do you think Chace would make a good Christian Grey?
