It's been quite some time since Fifty Shades of Grey took the country by storm, so fans of the book miiiight be itching for something new. Well, the book they've been waiting for comes out Tuesday, February 12 (which also happens to be Fat Tuesday and my fiance's birthday, so it's obviously gonna be an awesome day). Like E.L. James' runaway hit, it started out as Twilight fan fiction, had a previous title (The Office), is being published under a pseudonym (Christina Lauren), and is about a successful dominant guy (a businessman) and his sexy younger lady prey (his intern). It's called Beautiful Bastard and was written by lady duo Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billings. And it sounds like it's shaping up to really be the next Fifty Shades.
I know, I know. We've heard that a million times. But this time, it sounds legit ... Need proof? Okay!
The Hollywood Reporter has pubbed a sneak peek of the book's whole first chapter, and here are a few tease-y excerpts:
He had a face that any male model would kill for and the most incredible hair I’ve ever seen on a man. Freshly fucked hair. That’s what the girls downstairs called it, and according to them, it earned its title. The image of him wiping his chest with his shirt was forever burned into my brain.
A bit of cheese, sure, but then it quickly gets steam-arific and seriously intriguing. And the writing's not nearly as cringe-worthy as E.L. James. Consider this:
The part of me that hated him was dissolving like sugar on my tongue, and the part that wanted everything he had to give me was growing, hot and demanding.
And ...
I could feel his smile press into the back of my neck, and when he opened his mouth and pressed his teeth to my skin, I was done for.
Those are just a few little teasers of the hotness in Beautiful Bastard has to offer. And uh, yeah, the hotness? It's right off the bat. No needing to read hundreds of pages before gettin' to the "dirty parts." For that reason alone, consider me sold.
So, yeah, if erotica is your thing -- and come on, these days, it's perfectly okay to admit that it is -- judging from the first chapter, Beautiful Bastard is going to be a total must-read. And quite likely the next big thing.

I am gonna try to get 50 shades for my Ereader so I can read better w/out my glasses!! Reading my current series, Black Dagger Brotherhood... another good series about vampires but so totally better than Twilight though still a TwiMom
