Kailyn Lowry is one of the Teen Moms who seems to have it all together, but in a recent interview, the mom of one revealed that she is dealing, now, with her bipolar disorder. She went on to apologize in advance to fans regarding an upcoming episode in which she and then-fiance Javi Marroquin get into a physical fight, evidently a catalyst for her visit with a therapist and getting the diagnosis.
In the fight, Kailyn says she couldn't control her temper and began shaking Javi's head.
... Even though Javi and I have moved on from it, I want to say I’m sorry again to him and his family for letting my emotions get the best of me. I know how humiliating that is for them and I’m humiliated myself ... My mom is bipolar and it turns out I am too.
Besides Kailyn's turmoil as a young mom trying to deal with her baby daddy, her new husband, her jobs, school, and family, she has the stress that accompanies being on a hit show with millions of followers. It's great that she's now receiving the help she allegedly needs to treat her bipolar disorder; hopefully, this will make life easier for her and those she loves.
If you'll remember, Teen Mom Jenelle Evans is also bipolar. It's sort of a shame that Teen Mom 2 might get canceled due to Jenelle's antics because Kailyn could've had an opportunity to show a calmer, steadier approach to dealing with the diagnosis.
She's already had the forethought to process the fight she had with Javi and explain to fans how she's now teaching herself how to cope with her feelings of rage -- both positive examples of maturity and lesson-learning, if you ask me. Kailyn is one of the few Teen Moms who has accepted her MTV-lebrity status and is using it for good rather than evil.
Wish we could say the same about some of her co-stars.

Yup she's just the right age for that ugliness to rear it's head. So glad she's strong enough to ask for help.
I wish my mother would seek help, she's bi polar and refuses to take her medicine. But great Job for Kailyn! She's showing the positive side of the spectrum, someone who takes it on and shows that not all people with this disorder are nut jobs. Thanks again girl!
Wow. I did not know this. As someone who has Bipolar Disorder, I can usually tell. I guess it's because I've never seen her manic on TV, whereas with Jenelle I have many times. Poor Kailyn, though. It's really hard having this illness, and I've suffered so much from it myself. I hope everything is under control now. She's an amazing mom, and I don't want to see this affecting Isaac.
Would have never guessed! It's good that she is getting help for it! Would want her to turn out like her mom ( in the bad mom kind of way)...she's such a good mom! Good luck Kailyn!
