'Teen Mom 2' Leah Calvert's REAL Feelings About Her Engagement Were Kind of Sad (VIDEO)

Leah Calvert When Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer Calvert got engaged, everyone was surprised by how quickly it happened. In fact, Calvert was, too.

In the Teen Mom 2 after-show special, Leah revealed that she wasn't expecting the proposal so soon after the two of them started dating. It seems a little suspect. During this week's episode of the show, she DID get engaged and she seemed pleasantly surprised. She also revealed she had removed her IUD and was pregnant. Did she already know that and that is why they got engaged? I guess we will never know.

The whole thing was just sad, though. See below:

Getting engaged is supposed to be a joyous time. It's supposed to be something both parties have wanted for a long time and feel thrilled to shout from the rooftops.

Leah's engagement was rushed. She looked more uncomfortable than excited, and when she told her mom, it was really clear. There are supposed to be tears of happiness and joy. Instead there was worry. And trepidation.

It's easy to see why. At just 20, she has already been married and become a mom of two. Rushing into things didn't work out well for her before and it certainly won't work this time.

Leah has a lot to learn about life and jumping into yet another marriage, and pregnancy is probably not the best way to do that. So her hesitation and her sadness and her weirdness on the after-show aren't surprising. It makes sense.

But you don't have to say yes. You can always say you'd rather wait. It's way too late now (they are long married now, hence her new last name). But it might be food for thought as she moves forward. At just 20, she has years and years of fertility and she can keep having babies.

Maybe now is the time to stick at three and build a really strong marriage.

I don't think this will last. But I hope that next time she thinks fully before she acts and she actually learns from two crazy situations. I don't honestly think by the time she's 30 she will be married to this guy.

I do not think it will last. She doesn't seem to think anything through. She didn't look happy after he proposed. She definitely didn't look happy after the test came back positive. She looked nervous and uncomfortable. I agree with the above poster, I think they'll be divorced by the time she's 30.

Nope. Leah will probably end up a (twice) divorced mother of three with very little education, very little job experience & a boatload of debt before the age of 30 all because she couldn't stand being alone. This little girl needs to work on being her own person before she can be someone's partner.

She reminds me of my boyfriend's ex wife. Maybe that is why I can't stand her lol. She doesn't think anything through to the finish line. She jumps from relationship to relationship and picks up kids along the way. My boyfriend's ex has 3 children by 3 different men and has been divorced twice and she is only 24. I can see Leah heading in the same footsteps and that makes me sad.

OK, here's what got me - she tells her girlfriend that she's had her IUD taken out and the conversation immediately goes to whether she expects this relationship with the new guy to endure. Well, excuse me, but why isn't there a scene in which she and BF talk about removing birth control? Why didn't her GF ask whether the BF was part of the decision or even knew about it? In the next scenes, she's thinking she's pregnant. I agree that this whole thing is fishy, and the possibility is open that this girl got herself pregnant whilst the unsuspecting BF had no idea of the dimensions of the risk she set up for both of them. This is a character that I started liking, probably because I thought she was cute and seemed like a nice southern girl who had bad luck. But as time goes on, she begins to look more and more sinister to me, and scary, like there should be a warning tattooed on her butt advising guys that she's not the faithful type since high school, justifies her random fornication a week before her wedding cuz she and her fiance got into a fight, and takes out birth control unilaterally and without warning. No matter how cute and how nice her voice sounds, I can't say I'd wish a female like her on an enemy.

Torrence Mom - Don't worry about Leah Messner. She's got looks and charm, and I'd guess enough skills by now to be irresistibly alluring to men of substantial means who are 20 years older than her, and she'll remain that way for a long time. She'll do just fine.
