In an entertainment world where pretty much any time two women share the same sphere, they are figuratively clawing each other's eyes out -- either over a man (Brandi and LeAnn), over screen time (Mariah and Nicki), or over anything at all (any of the Real Housewives) -- how damn refreshing it is to see grown women who actually like and support one another. I'm talking, of course, about Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Their unique blend of girl time magic was on display again last night at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Tina might have won over Amy, but that didn't put the slightest dent in their buddy love. In fact, their womance was on full display.
Tina and Amy were both up for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series, and Tina won out for her work in 30 Rock. Which I guess wasn't a big surprise considering this is the show's last season. But Tina already HAS five SAG Awards. I would have liked to have seen Amy get the win for once -- is it me or is Tina like the Marcia to Amy's Jan?
But Tina's win gave us the only real glimpse we had all night of a loser looking genuinely thrilled at being bested. Amy yelled, "Woo hoo!" as Tina took the stage. And after thanking the cast of 30 Rock, Tina ignored her agents, managers, and stylists in favor of giving an excited shout out to her BFF:
I share this with my sweet friend, Amy Poehler, who I've known for so long. I've stolen so many of your moves. Amy, I've known you since you were pregnant with Lena Dunham. I love you.
Amy, meanwhile, was clasping her heart and mouthing, "I love you." Aww, now these are the types of women we should see on TV together more. Someone get them their own show, will ya?!

What did you think of Tina's speech? Do you find it refreshing to see female buddies on TV?
