New ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 3 Teaser Hints at Dramatic Reversals of Fortunes to Come (VIDEO)

TV Addict 1

Game of thrones season 3Yet another Game of Thrones season 3 teaser has been released by HBO -- but at least this time it has some new material! Thank goodness. Because although cool graphics and a CGI three-eyed raven flying over modern day cities are fun to gawk at, we GoT nerds really just want March 31, 2013 to get here already so we can see HBO's (hopefully epic) take on A Storm of Swords.

The two-minute preview of the upcoming season gives you some behind-the-scenes glimpses and includes lots of interviews with some of the beloved -- and new! -- characters.

As executive producer David Benioff puts it: "This is the rise and fall season. There are so many characters who come into the season with power of some kind who lose everything, and other characters who enter with almost nothing and achieve great power."

And as Mance Rayder puts it: Fantasy, drama, a bit of butchery ... seriously, people, what's not to love?!

Here it is!

Just an FYI, do NOT read the comments on the original YouTube page, as they contain a CRAP TON of spoilers about the third book. You'll thank me later.

Seeing as we're in the middle of a legit freeze in parts of the East Coast and Midwest, we're sure as hell aware that winter's not just coming, it's already freakin' here. And these teasers only go to show how much bigger, better, and more beautiful season 3 will be in comparison to the first two. Like the producers have said before, this is the season and book that they had always wanted to get to, and now that it's here, they better deliver!

With these first-time looks at Mance Rayder, the Queen of Thorns, the Unsullied, etc., HBO seems to be stepping up to the task so far -- they really can do no wrong, at least visually, when it comes to this series. The locations, sets, and costumes all look incredible. And it's somewhat oddly comforting seeing familiar faces like Daenerys Targaryen, Tyrion Lannister, and Robb & Catelyn Stark. (Hey, as Bran Stark said, "Old stories are like old friends ... You have to visit them from time to time.") What will season 3 have in store for all of them? I really can't wait much longer to see what happens.

Are you psyched for Game of Thrones season 3? What do you think of the new material they released?

Thanks for sharing the season three promo video and this makes me incredibly psyched for the March 31 premiere! I love to see how sweeping it’ll be across so many different environments and I am nearly caught up with the book series and thanks for suggesting that I avoid the YouTube page. Its’ been tough to not talk about A Storm of Swords with my DISH coworkers, but I hear that there are a lot of changes coming. I’ve been watching some episodes of season two to fix my GoT habit since I recorded all of them on my DISH Hopper. I like to go back and re-watch episodes whenever I want and I can do that without needing to delete other shows for more space because my DVR holds up to 2,000 hours of entertainment.
