Well, we finally know who's going to be playing in this year's Super Bowl. Ray Lewis and the Baltimore Ravens will be taking on Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers in an east coast vs. west coast, brother vs. brother matchup on Sunday, February 3. And the hype over the game is just beginning.
In the form of teasers for the (hopefully awesome) Super Bowl commercials, of course.
Because if you really don't give two shits about the game, that's the best reason to tune in. From mini Darth Vader to Mean Joe Greene to "Bud" "Weis" "Er", sometimes the commercials can be more entertaining than the actual game. I know, I'm about to be struck by lightning -- this is coming from a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
So, now that a few teasers have come out, let's take a look and see if they'll potentially join the others in Classic Super Bowl Commercials You'll Watch Over and Over Again lore.
This old dude is simply awesome. Here's Taco Bell's teaser:
Here's one of Mercedes-Benz's teasers, featuring a ... diner. Ooooo:
And the more detailed (leaked) Kate Upton ad where she, um, "washes" a car:
Gildan is very popular in the wholesale T-shirt world. They spent $3.8 million for a 30-second commercial and just released their teaser. Let's hope it's worth it!:
Doritos has come out with some pretty memorable spots. They've now teased five finalists for the 2013 "Doritos Crash the Super Bowl" contest, and you can see all of them here. But I picked the one that featured a screaming goat:
And how about the teaser for Skechers, which shows a dude in, yes, Skechers racing a cheetah:
Which teaser was your favorite so far? Do you watch the Super Bowl for the commercials?
