'Kourtney & Kim Take Miami' Recap: Kim's Pregnancy Makes More Sense Now
Trying to make sense of why the Kardashians do what they do is typically a pretty fruitless endeavor, but still, Kim Kardashian's pregnancy has left me pondering why now? on more than a few occasions. Sure, things happen, but she's still married to Kris Humphries. It just seemed a little rushed even by Kardashian standards. But tonight on part two of the Kourtney & Kim Take Miami premiere, she revealed information that put it in a bit of perspective.
Last week we learned that she had struggled with infertility, but on tonight's episode, she shared that her test results showed she has the egg level of a 50-something-year-old woman. That's got to be shocking for anyone, but especially so for someone like Kim who has always wanted to have children. Tonight we saw her take that shock out on Kourtney.
She started picking on Kourtney for being a "slob-kebab", and told her friend Jonathan Cheban that she found Kourtney and her kids "so overwhelming it makes me even second guess that I even want to have kids." Of course those were her defense mechanisms at play as she imagined her childless future, but it didn't make it any easier on Kourtney when she called her boring.
Kim finally confessed what was wrong to Khloe, who has her own fertility issues going on. She then apologized to Kourtney, and as we know, her fears are now put to rest since she's carrying Kanye's baby. She told the Today show last week that her pregnancy was a "pleasant surprise when so many doctors were telling me one thing and then the opposite happens."
So while it may have felt rushed, this information at least explains the rush. If you think you may never be able to have children, then there's really no time to waste in trying. Fortunately, it did work out for her, and now we can only hope it works out for Khloe too one of these days.
And hopefully some deodorant will work out for Kourtney one of these days. I just can't believe she actually goes around reeking like that. I get the fear of chemicals when you're pregnant or breastfeeding, but there's a line, and when you flat out smell so badly that your 2-year-old tells you so, you've definitely crossed it.
Does the fact that Kim had the egg supply of a 50-something-year-old woman make you think of her pregnancy any differently? Would you ever choose to not wear deodorant?
