Jennifer Lawrence Hosts 'SNL' & Makes Us Love Her Even More (VIDEOS)

Jennifer LawrenceJust when we thought we couldn't love Jennifer Lawrence any more, she goes and gets all funny on us. The Silver Linings Playbook star hosted SNL last night, and while reviews of her performance are mixed, I thought she did great. She showed us that not only is she ridiculously beautiful, but she's also hilarious too.

She was self-deprecating, bold, and made it one of the best episodes of SNL in a long time. The Lumineers' performance was the icing on the cake.

From her opening monologue through each of the skits, she kept the laughs coming and looked stunning.

She addressed the supposed dis toward Meryl Streep that people thought she made during her Golden Globes acceptance speech saying, "I would never trash talk any of my fellow nominees at the Golden Globes, but the Oscars are another story." Then she threw out a series of little jabs for her Oscar competition. Of 9-year-old Quvenzhane Wallis, she said, "You think you can beat me? Whatchu talkin' bout, Wallis?" And "The alphabet called. They want their letters back."

If you missed it, here it is in full.

Perhaps my favorite part, however, was The Hunger Games sketch when Katniss and Peeta are answering questions from reporters. If you're a fan of the series, it's a must see.

The final sketch, "Love Letters," was random but pretty damn funny as they mixed modern-day slang with the Civil War. In a series of letters her lover keeps demanding a "tit pic". Yes, you have to see it to get it.

What did you think of Jennifer Lawrence's performance on SNL?

It was not funny.

I thought she personally did great, but the skit's writing wasn't very good throughout most of the show, so it felt a bit weak.

I agree -- did not think that last night's SNL was very funny at all - through no fault of Jennifer - but the writing was weak.  She - on the other hand - seems like a really sweet girl.  I saw her on David Letterman being self-depricating about her rear-end shot....she seems great.

I don't think it was that funny, but I still like her :)

I do not know why Jennifer Lawrence agreed to guest-host this show long long past its prime. I was embarrassed for her due to the idiotic writing. The one positive point was that we finally got to see the REAL Jennifer in the opening monologue because her always ironic guard was down due to her nervousness and we could see that she is normal, sweet, and charming young woman.

It just seemed that she was very one note last night, like all the sketches had her somewhat dark and brooding for some reason..maybe she's just not gifted at comedy or the writing just really sucked cause they didn't vary the skits at all and she seemed very flat

After her appearance as a Top Doggie Chef, I'll never again look at a pee'd-on eggshell w/o cracking up
