Sometimes you just have to embrace your inner nerd and admit to yourself that you're looking forward to nothing more than March 31, 2013, when Game of Thrones season 3 premieres. And HBO knows the best way to rile up fans of the epic series, especially in light of the newest teaser, which gives absolutely nothing away (yet again) but is still fantastically haunting, creepy, and worth the watch.
Seriously, the whole entire teaser is just a three-eyed raven flying through modern day cityscapes, with The National's gorgeous "The Rains of Castamere" playing in the background (which has been featured on the show before). Putting this together with the first teaser that came out, well, HBO certainly and frustratingly knows how to keep things under wraps, that's for sure.
For those of you who've read A Storm of Swords, upon which the third season is based, you probably can't wait to see what's to come. And it's gonna be ... I have no words. For those of you who haven't, well, you're in for a major treat. So let's begin the countdown 'til "their world returns to ours."
Here's the teaser:
It's so f'in fantastic. For fans of the previous seasons, you probably remember the three-eyed raven coming to Bran Stark in his dreams after he was paralyzed from being pushed out of a castle tower. Most likely, even more of the mysterious bird will be seen in season 3 aiding Bran, but we'll just have to wait with bated breath for now, damnit.
And how ingenious is it of these producers to have the raven fly over modern-day cities and landmarks? In a way, it kind of makes you feel like you're not alone in your GoT loserdom obsession fascination. But it also just goes to show how much cooler and mythical Westeros is than our silly world. Still, be sure to look over your shoulder out the window today for any large black birds boring into your soul with three eyes. That image will certainly help you sleep at night, won't it?
Hurry up, March 31! We can't take much more of this.
How psyched are you for season 3 of Game of Thrones? What did you think of this teaser?
