Wow. Most parents are thrilled to be able to find an available babysitter so they can enjoy dinner and a movie out once in a while, but apparently that's just not good enough for Beyonce and Jay-Z.
Their little angel, Blue Ivy Carter, has a $1 million nursery suite set up in the basement of the Barclays Center, you know, so she can play with her toys in style while Mommy and Daddy chill out and watch the Brooklyn Nets play.
Yep, while Bey and Jay are upstairs enjoying their VIP courtside seats, little Blue Ivy is down in the basement, presumably with a nanny, living it up like the celebrity baby she is.
And honestly, I don't know why anyone is surprised over the fact that baby Blue has a personal playground fit for a princess. I mean, considering Beyonce and Jay-Z spent $1.3 million in renovations to the hospital suite their daughter was born in, it's really not a huge shocker for them to shell out a huge amount of cash for a place to keep their baby happy and occupied while they indulge in a little adult time.
Ok, ok -- I guess renting out the $1 million a year (OMG!) suite at the Barclays center is a bit extravagant and over-the-top even for them, which is why it's important to note that Jay-Z also uses the space to entertain his buddies. In addition to Blue's toy area, the suite also boasts a TV and champagne bar, so it does sound like a pretty cool place to hang. (I'd SO go to a party there.)
But still, it does seem interesting that they'd opt to bring Blue with them to the games instead of just leaving her in the comfort of her own home with a trusted nanny instead. It's no secret that basketball games can run pretty late sometimes, and being cooped up in a basement suite, no matter how luxurious, has to be a bit tiring for a baby who is just shy of a year old.
Actually, Blue Ivy turns one on Monday, and something tells me this $1 million dollar suite is only the beginning of the lavish gifts she'll no doubt be showered with. She's one pampered kid, all right -- but who can blame Beyonce and Jay-Z for spoiling her? Wouldn't we all do the same if we had their bank account?
Do you think the Barclays suite is a bit much, even for Beyonce and Jay-Z?
