Season 17 of The Bachelor doesn't kick off until Monday, January 7, but apparently there are already some MAJOR problems. Things aren't all roses for Bachelor producers after word got out on WHO Sean Lowe chooses at the end of the upcoming season. Yeah, they're furious with Stephen Carbone, owner of the spoiler site Reality Steve, and are suing him (for the second time) for "soliciting details from cast and crew members who were contractually obligated to keep quiet." Wow. This is no joke.
I get it. It's annoying to put all this effort and money and time into a show when the world can just read up on the end result before the thing even airs. I'm not so sure they'll win their case against Stephen, but I'm on their side here. I'm sick and tired of hearing so many big spoilers SO far in advance.
It's just always been something that bothers me, personally. I know there are those people out there that appreciate and feel like they're getting the inside information when they get the spoilers. Seriously though, what's the point of tuning in every week when you know how it's ending? For me, it just feels pointless.
The Bachelor is a long series of episodes full of twists and turns, dates, suspenseful rose ceremonies, and nights in the Fantasy Suite. As a fan, you want to follow along with the magic of what falling in love is like (or "love" on reality TV, anyway). I'm convinced that knowing who is winning the entire shebang and, worse -- before it even starts -- just ruins the magic.
A huge part of me hopes Reality Steve is wrong. I guess, for now, we'll just have to wait with bated breath to find out.
Do you hate or love spoilers? Do you hope the ones about this season's big winner are true?
