Kim Kardashian Hints at What Kind of Mom She'll Be With Touching Words About Her Dad

kim kardashian kanye west 1 oak vegasNow that we're almost about 50 percent of the way done wrapping our heads around the fact that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are well on their way -- as in, three months along -- to having a baby, we have no choice but to start imagining what the two ridiculous famemongers are going to be like as parents. Wow, scary. But maybe Kim's acknowledgment of the pregnancy offers a clue ...

A couple of days ago, on her blog for Celebuzz, Kim wrote, "It’s true!! Kanye and I are expecting a baby. We feel so blessed and lucky and wish that in addition to both of our families, his mom and my dad could be here to celebrate this special time with us." While the entire message is all sorts of sweet, it's that last part that's especially telling.

Kim's father, Robert Kardashian, died in 2003, while Kanye's mother, Donda West, died in 2007. It's not unsurprising that this pregnancy has drudged up some difficult, deep emotions surrounding the loss of their respective parents ... Yet, Kim's acknowledgment of that in her blog post seems like a good sign. Maybe it's proof this baby will have other, personality-shaping, maturing effects on these two ...?

I mean, we loved Beyonce before she became Supermom Beyonce and seemed even more human (well, apart from the fiasco with her gazillion-dollar private birthing suite). Okay, okay, better example! Angelina Jolie seemed like such a crazy bitch -- until she became a mega-mom! There's something about becoming a parent that seems to soften untouchable, even irksome celebs. And in Kimye's case, maybe -- we can hope at least -- it'll continue to bring out their humanity. Help 'em get their priorities straight and have them thinking in terms of family over fame? And, in turn, they would be so much less annoying!

But knowing them, they'll probably just find newer, bigger ways to marry their fame-seeking to their expanding family. Unsurprisingly, word from E! is the baby will appear on Mom's many reality TV series. Ahh, well, here's hoping becoming parents makes 'em at least slightly more likable. Cuz with Baby K on its way, they're definitely not disappearing from the spotlight anytime soon.

Do you think becoming parents will change Kim and Kanye in a positive way?

Yes, babies do tend to change people.  Hopefully for the better.

we'll have to wait and see. i can't agree with the line that babies change people. not true, for some a baby is just an accessory, an extra way of getting attention

hmm... referencing her father is "especially touching"? It's the very loss of her father that has (in part) evoked her poor behavior in the first place.
