'Real Housewives of Atlanta' Recap: Phaedra & Apollo Kiss Off Divorce Rumors
There was no holiday break for The Real Housewives of Atlanta, as Bravo aired a new episode of the drama tonight. Back from Anguilla, marriage was the matter at hand for most of the ladies -- from who wanted a ring on their finger (Kenya Moore, obnoxiously so; and Kandi Burruss, in a subtly hopeful way) to whose ring may be starting to rub them the wrong way (Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida).
First let's talk about Phaedra and Apollo. When it comes to her relationship, Phaedra is typically a closed book with nothing but praise for her man. "Marriage is sacred," she has repeatedly said, but tonight, she was quick to tell Kandi and her man all about the things that drive her crazy about Apollo -- from him leaving the toilet seat up to talking too much too early in the morning. "There are days I want to inure him," she told them.
Then there were the divorce rumors that hit a blog claiming Apollo and Phaedra were headed to divorce court. Cynthia Bailey saw them, and somehow figured that since she had heard that Apollo spends ample amounts of time at strip clubs they should all double date to one.

So there, amidst aging, overweight strippers, the four of them threw money while Apollo went on and on about how they have lost themselves since marriage and something about the "center of time scale." Basically, he let it be known that their marriage isn't as perfect as it seems. He unleashed even further when he was doing shots with the guys at Cynthia's event, saying sometimes he feels like he's dealing with a "goddamn beast." (Side note: Is it really possible that when he was in prison he didn't see sunlight for 16 months?!)
In the end, Phaedra and Apollo did some very aggressive and sloppy kissing in front of everyone to debunk the divorce rumors (not pretty). Phaedra said she's not letting Apollo go unless Uncle Willie (a funeral director) wheels him out. It may or may not have been convincing, but on the heels of news this weekend that Phaedra and Apollo are expecting their second baby, it's pretty safe to say the divorce rumors were just rumors. Way to nip that speculation/manufactured drama in the bud.
Then there was Kenya Moore, who I'm already so sick of I could scream. I thought she may have scraped up what's left of her pride and walked after her meeting with Walter over lunch in which he told her he loves her but not enough to marry her then and didn't know if he would in six months either. But it seems she's not ready to let him get away that easy even if he'd rather do shots with the guys and hide from her. She got annoyed, but not so annoyed that previews for next week don't show her still trying to talk him into marrying her. Hard to get definitely isn't a game this girl plays. Of course, it's all a big game, so the whole thing is just mind numbing to watch.
The end of their fake relationship is near it seems; the only real question is how they'll choose to end it. Considering Kenya is part of the mix, it's likely not to be without drama.
Meanwhile, NeNe was busy swimming in diamonds for her Ebony cover shoot; and Porsha was eating yams in her quest to get pregnant with twins. As for Kandi, she was just staying calm and hoping all of the other crazy ladies wouldn't scare her man, Todd Tucker, off. Rumors circulating this weekend that they're secretly engaged may mean it paid off. Hopefully congrats are in order.
Which Atlanta couple do you think will stay together the longest? For the least amount of time?
