New Year's Eve TV Marathons Mean Partying With Zombies, Vampires & More!

Hot List 4

true blood billLet's say you're past the point in life where how you spend New Year's Eve is like, THE most important decision of the year. But you're not yet at that other point in life where you spend December 31st just like any other night, turning in at 8:15 p.m. with a mug of warm milk. How exactly is a young/old tired/not-that-tired type supposed to celebrate good times (c'mon!)?

By watching TV, of course! No, not that annual ball-dropping fiasco -- we're talking about one of the very special New Year's Eve Marathons created, most likely, with people who prefer to ring in 2013 curled up on the couch in mind. Think of it as an excuse to catch up on your favorite series (you know you missed at least an episode or two) and drink champagne at the same time! Here's what you need to know before you tune in.

The Walking Dead An appropriate way to spend the last night of the Year of the Zombie Apocalypse? Watching the first half of Season 3 of The Walking Dead on AMC (before the second half picks up again in February). Starting at 9 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31st, and ending around 5 a.m. on Tuesday, January 1st.

True Blood Bid a fond farewell to 2012 with your friends from Bon Temps: HBO will replay the entire 5th season of True Blood starting at 9 p.m. on Monday night. Do bad things.

The Twilight Zone SyFy continues its annual NYE tradition with a marathon of classic Twilight Zone episodes starting on Monday at 8 a.m. (ending on Tuesday at 5 a.m.), so you can get the party started really, really early.

Are you planning on watching any of these New Year's Eve TV Marathons?

Don't forget the Honeymooners marathon! Classic show

Been around since the big flood(that whole two by two thing with a big boat)and enough New Years shindigs that were all a big build up to only have it be the sound of a balloon with a slow leak.Soo over New Years eve. I'd love to watch a marathon but alas,I have to work on the 1st. Still blows all these years later.

I’m so excited for the season 3 marathon of The Walking Dead tonight on AMC! I’ll be working late tonight at DISH, so I won’t get to watch get to watch the ball drop for New Year’s, but I will focus my attention on The Walking Dead as soon as I get off. Thankfully, I am able to do that because DISH’s Hopper is recording every episode of the marathon, since it has 2,000 hours of storage available, and I cannot wait!
