kardashian christmas card 2012I've been staring at my computer for 20 minutes trying to think of a funny/original intro, and it just isn't happening -- every Kardashian joke has been done. So I'm just going to cut to the chase: The 2012 Kardashian Christmas card has been released, and not only did it take every ounce of willpower I could muster to not write "Kardashian Kristmas Kard", it's the crew's most ... advertisementy-looking one yet. Oh, and someone's missing: A little rapper named Kanye West. (But Mercy the cat isn't [RIP little dude].)

As Sister Khloe konfessed (ah, that feels better) the annual Kardashian Christmas card is -- well -- it's a big sham. They're not even together while taking it -- they're all PhotoShopped in (because that's what the holidays are all about). So ... why couldn't Kanye "be" there?

Because he and Kim just started dating, that's why!

I definitely don't consider myself to be president of the Kim and Kanye Forever fan club. In fact, like the rest of the world, I find them really annoying. And I think most of what they do is for publicity. But I think it's smart of him (or her?) to not make a cameo on their Christmas card. A boyfriend of a not-even-a-year should not be on a family holiday card. Kim and Kanye started dating in April 2012 -- thanks, Lindsay, for that crazy, off-the-top-of-your-head factoid! -- that's too soon to be Christmas carding it up together. If they're still dating next December, by all means, do your thing. But not this year.

I know people may beg to differ on this, but personally, I'm against the joint boyfriend-girlfriend Christmas card unless you're living together. Too risky. Not enough commitment. Once you share a house with your significant other, I think it's "safer", for lack of a better word. It's less likely -- and a lot harder -- to break up.

So, I guess this is just a really long-winded way of me saying: Good move, Kanye. I don't always like your style, but in this instance, I'm with you. Merry Christmas, dude.
