Hugh Grant Deemed 'Worst' 'Daily Show' Guest of All Time & He Sounds Pretty Awful

Heartbreaking 1

hugh grantSo, Hugh Grant's a jerk apparently. Who knew? During a convention in New Jersey recently, Jon Stewart, who appeared alongside Stephen Colbert, said that Hugh Grant was the worst Daily Show guest ever, and he's banned for life from the show. Stewart claimed that when Grant was on the show in 2009, he displayed the most diva-esque behavior of any person he's ever had on the show. Stewart added, "And we've had dictators on the show."

Jeez. What the hell did Hugh Grant do?

According to Stewart, Grant, 52, was "giving everyone shit the whole time, and he's a big pain in the ass." Apparently, Grant was on the show to promote Did You Hear About the Morgans? and was displeased with the film clip the movie’s publicist provided. He allegedly said: "What is that clip? It's a terrible clip." To which Stewart replied: "Well, then make a better fucking movie."

Not gonna lie. A little disappointed to hear this. Despite his famous sexcapades with prostitute Divine Brown in 1995, I always thought Hugh was an all right guy. He seems smart, and cheeky, and charmingly self-deprecating. I would never have pegged him to be the worst Daily Show guest of all time. I mean, the worst? That's no easy feat. Bummer.

Regardless, I'm glad that story came out. If Hugh was as big of a jerk as Stewart says he was, why not let the cat out of the bag? Only seems fair. Even if it does crush some people's schoolgirl dreams.

Are you surprised by this?

Not suprised. Like, at all. He's always played smarmy roles — a little too well, I'd say. Never warmed up to him. Except as the resident morally-challenged wit in the movie.
