There's a new trailer for Lone Ranger today! We loved the Lone Ranger trailer released a couple months ago. It's all wild Gore Verbinski madness, a dustier Pirates of the Caribbean set in the American West. This new trailer out today gives us a little bit of back story into how the Lone Ranger and Tonto met -- and what drew them together.
I always wondered why Tonto bothered with the Lone Ranger. He was clearly the cooler and more resourceful of the two. Remember that joke where they're surrounded by Indians and Lone Ranger says, "Looks like we're in trouble!" and Tonto says, "What do you mean 'we,' white man?"
Well finally, we know: The Lone Ranger's death-defying ways intrigued Tonto. He's a "spirit walker" -- a man who cannot be killed in battle. Good enough for Tonto, and darn well good enough for me. Also -- does it seem like maybe Tonto slipped the Lone Ranger some peyote there in the beginning?
Did you ever wonder what drew Tonto to the Lone Ranger?
