In a recent teary interview with E!, LeAnn Rimes admits she doesn't regret having an affair with Eddie Cibrian while they were both married to other people, but she hates how she handled the whole thing.
You may remember that the pair fell in love in 2009 while making the Lifetime movie Northern Lights and ultimately left their spouses Dean Sheremet and Brandi Glanville. "I call it insanity! Absolute insanity," she said of falling for each other. "But nothing ever happened between us except for on camera, you know, during the film ... Absolutely nothing. I had no idea what life was throwing me and I had no idea how to handle it ... But all I knew was I could not ... we couldn't stop connecting in some way. And it was the hardest thing I've ever been through in my life."
The hardest thing that she's been through! What about their devastated and humiliated spouses? What about Eddie's kids who now have to deal with constantly bickering parents?
"I wish I handled it differently because I wish it could've been better for me, for Brandi, for Dean, for Eddie, and for everyone else," Rimes explained. "I know in this situation it's gonna take some time, all I wish is that everyone that was hurt, that we hurt, that I hurt, can be happy."
Sorry, but I am not buying this so-called mea culpa. Her biggest regrets seem to be looking like the bad guy in all of this. For most of her life, she has been the sweet-faced, country crooner. Now being branded a home-wrecking hussy is almost too much for her to bear. "I'm like, can someone come up with anything like more, I don't know, original?" she joked, before beginning to cry.
It's certainly been hard for her to deal with the most vicious of critics. Her recent emotional breakdown can partly be attributed to that. It also doesn't help that Brandi is very vocal about how much she dislikes LeAnn. But it seems all the pain and suffering -- hers and that of others -- has all been worth it for the star. "When you endure those kind of hardships, at the end of the day if you can't make it through that, you can't make it," she said. "And we've made it through a lot ... We fought for each other."
Do you think LeAnn is really sorry for how much the affair devastated their loved ones?

I think she is. But I'm really tired of hearing about it over and over. Will journalists ever stop writing about them?
I really wish she would just go away and quit talking about it. I think she just makes herself look worse the more she talks about it.....Quit be mean to the kids Mom, actually try to work with her, quit talking about it in public & work on your music & try to make amends-in private, please.
how come she is getting full blame for this? She didn't cheat with herself, it takes two...
And I'm not saying she isn't in the wrong, because clearly she is, but we need to remember that she is only human, just like the rest of us. We all make mistakes, some worse than others. It's sad her mistake had to help ruin two families... but if both families were really that happy and great, then do you think this affair would have happened?
Anyway... the deed is done, no turning back now... all she can do is move on, and we need to respect that and let it go! She's not the first and wont be last to have an affair!
LeAnn is a man and Eddie is into her. What does that say?
loser!
